One of my less-favorite sea critters, but I like the way it's pushing against its habitat. :p
One could not predict this almost crystalline texture would evoke a sea world, yet somehow, it does not seem out of place. Fascinating!

i love the background, the way the colors are blended and the interesting, graceful textures formed at the blend site. I also love the colors, muted like under the sea, out of direct light.
i like the jellyfish less, it has something of a pasted on look.
i keep hearing about yupo but still don't quite understand what it is and what its appeal is
i'll have to research...

Agree with Billy. Loved the background. The color and craftsmanship of the jellyfish is less attractive to me. What a terrific series!
Dig the alchemy of medium goin on here.

this looks like it was pure joy to create. is this a messy process? does the medium go everywhere?
to me, this almost feels like glazed hand thrown pottery. very warm and organic.

Thankyou for your replies, My thought in painting the jellyfish was to give it a bright glowing effect, just like the ones I've seen many times deep sea fishing in the early morning hours, years ago. I did give the tentacles more color this morning. I'll post the scan after we come back from dinner. Thankyou for your comments! ;)
