Peppers - Derwent wc pencils on Arches wc paper about 5x7. I used the smoother side of the paper..that seems to help a bit. Shadows are a little harsh....still getting the feel of this medium I guess...
I can't believe I've gotten this far and it's only Saturday! It's entirely possible I may get two in this time! :D

Kate, this is a beautifully rendered start with much delicacy and also much depth.
What a surprise that the pepper photo seems to be such a big hit! I never would have guessed it would emerge as one of the favorites.

Looks great so far, Kate. I especially like how that yellow pepper is emerging from the paper. ;)

Nice peppers!
I saw a thread recently (in w/c forum, I think) where someone asserted that cast shadows should be black. Nope, just darker -- about 40%. I'm sure you'll get them, since the rest is so great already!

Bright and shiny, as peppers should be, but also soft and subtle, which is a nice surprise.

Better late than never...finished the Peppers and took a turn at the Bleeding Hearts....and it may have been a wrong turn! Well, they weren't exactly as I imagined they'd be....
I'm not starting anything new until I finish what it was that I started! Thank you for your patience and for looking...onward and upward! :D
