This reminds a bit of "Bleeeah" - did I spell that title right? Playful moment.
My friend Shelley can balance a spoon on her nose and I'll be eternally jealous of her for it.

it's all in the breath
to hang a spoon on one's honker
one must breathe into it
like a zen moment - one then let's go completely

voila

this light touch is indispensible.

like an epiphany or epispoonery or something

Hmmmm...I too notice that those two post have disappeared. It is not a figment of my imagination as they (notices from wetcanvas with the responses) are in my old mail. Is this being censored? If so, perhaps someone could explain why. In Jerry's "au revoir" he was somewhat (duh!) cryptic, so why could it have been so offensive. What an asset to lose :crying: too bad. Jim

Mark, Jim....I'll be checking into this for you. If something is removed a PM should be sent to state why. I'll get back to you. Not all mods are available due totime difference. You will have an answer by morning.

Yes, I am very sad to have Jerry leave the forum...I do believe he has left before so perhaps it's temporary. He adds so very much to this forum!! :)

Thank you, Cathleen! Jerry has been such an asset to this community for so long, that I would hate to see him leave over something petty. I do not get the impression that he was "booted," so if he leaves because of his choice that is okay. But what concerns me is the dissappearance of posts in a thread. In my "old mail" I have the text of each of those threads and there was nothing offensive about them. You, I, Jerry, Mark and many others have a long history at "Open Critiques" so I am glad that it is you "looking" into this matter. And I am also glad that I do not have your job :) Jim .... I will not be offended if this post is diverted to your private mail but I think the issue of deleted posts without notification is not acceptable IMHO.

Posts restored after discussion with fellow Mods.

Posts may be removed for examination by Mods - usually, this occurs rapidly and posts are either returned, or PMs sent, once a consensus on appropriate action is reached. In this case the time difference, given that we are in different parts of the world, worked against us.

As you can see, Jerry has decided to absent himself (That is his decision) after a disagreement with Paintfool (not "Painfool" - but was this a typo, or a jibe? - after consultation, we have decided to give this the benefit of the doubt).

Dang, that's f'd up dude
Wetcanvas is, and has been, since the outset, due to the differing cultural sensitivities of a world-wide readership, a profanity-free zone - we have a software filter which routinely removes these words, replacing them by asterisks - neither is it the policy of the site to allow circumvention of the filter - any word which fails that filter, and cannot be publically posted, is also not allowed to be specifically communicated by implication.

After discussion, both points have been agreed to be borderline acceptable in context (the latter only in this case in order to enable clear explanation of Moderator action) and so the posts have been restored.

Thank you Dave and Cathleen! Patience IS a virtue. And language is a tricky thing. Two things artists in general are known for are their expressiveness and the magnificent ability of being unable to conform.

That is sad, for all of us.
It`s even more sad, because what we were used to by your work, was quality.
Quality
And as a critic(?) and as someone who has the gift to see art, you always noted very interesting sides to the works you commented on.......

I have nothing to add, Daniel is right in everything he says.

It would seem that members are very easy to replace if numbers are important, but Jerry is a person and artist far too unique for that. His loss lowers the status of Wet Canvas.
