Ok, so now my boyfriend finally persuaded me to draw a picture of myself :D The basic outlines are traced from a photo, I didn't want to spoil anything. I hope the colors won't be too inaccurate on your screen - pencil drawings are so soft and not many scanners know how to do it...
I'm now gonna work on the hair... Keep your fingers crossed for me
Any comments? I think the blue in the eyes is too unnatural and I don't like the spot under the nose, do you see it too or is it just my paranoia?
Materials used: aquarell pencils and aquarell paper.

(the IMG tag isn't working for me, it doesn't want to show the picture, shows only the link no matter what I try - what the hell am I doing wrong? )

Hi Adela,
it is a wonderful start! Keep on.
Well it would help, if you could also download the photo - so we could compare.
It looks fine to me, it just needs MORE layers.

Here, I attached it for you. Beautiful portrait! You look very relaxed in the pose, which is hard to do. I also like your eye shadow! :) I know nothing about aquarelle pencils - guessing they are watercolor pencils - are you going to use a brush on it? I would like to see the photo too!

Adela,
Couple of things... First I tell you how to upload your picture to this thread. After you load it up, you'll get many more comments.

Make sure your picture is ready. It needs to be a dpi of 72 with a resolution of 500 px high x 600 px wide. Total image file size should be 100 kb or less. Once that is done, open the thread you just started. Click on Post Reply. Look for the tool bar that starts with "My WC!"... and on the bar click on Quick Links. Click on image uploader. It will open in it own window. Click on Browse. Find your correctly sized picture on your computer. Upload it. You'll get some coding that you need to copy. Go to the window that has your post and paste the code there. It sounds really complicated but it's not.

Second thing... your picture. It's looking good to me! Go ahead and put down whatever background you will be doing. You also need to get a start on the hair. Once that is done, you'll be able to see if you need to do anything more to the eyes. You still need many more layers. Many more... The spot that concerns you under her nose will look very different by that time.

Really, a very nice start on what promises to be a beautiful picture!

Yes, get your background in very soon as it will change how all the other colors look. I like your skin tone colors...very nice & your pose is very natural.

You are so pretty!

I do see what you're saying about the spot under the nose, but art is all about relationships. :D So put some hair and background in before long, as that will interact with the eyes and skin tones. Love the pose and expression. Your boyfriend had a good idea!
