Well, I was just going to do a Soft Pastel of Rosie for the Project, but 4 reasons made me change my mind, and Paint what I have ended up painting, isnt it funny how you can be influenced by comments - things around you?
The influences were:-
1. Arlene commented on how she liked my Bright Colours
Landscapes.
2. I have ALWAYS wanted to do a "Bright Colours" Portrait
3. Rosies picture was lacking in Colour
4. I heard a radio report about the West End Play - The Lion
King.
Taking all these into account I came up with this idea.
Firstly, I sketched Rosie using a charcoal pencil.
Then I painted her hair using various shades of brown
Next,I added a bright red forehead
Next I added a black nose, and nice green lips
Next I added Cadimun Yellow for the skin
Next, I added blue cheeks
and finally, the mouth - white, whiskers are white on blue, long black eyelids, and finally the neck, Cad yellow.
When I thought of this last night, I got very excited and could hardly wait to get into my centre today.
Im very pleased with it, I just wanted to do something "different"
I call it " Simbas Pride "
Joe
;) ;)
