View Full Version : Mini Plein Air in Casein

This is my first casein painting. I loved working in this medium! This is the view out my back window. It's the only way I 'plein air paint' for most of the winter! This painting is dedicated to the memory of my friend and plein air painter, Mike Pacitti.

Dave, Blu, Lori, Dan and Val,
Thanks so much for your kind comments. Lori, you know I generally prefer gold frames! But some of these snow scenes really do seem to require silver.

And the frame sets it off beautifully, too.

Echoing the same here. You've captured the mood and your frame selection compliments the work wonderfully!

Jeri and Chris, thanks so much. This is one of my favorites and it has sentimental value; I probably will not sell this one. :)

Thank you so much, Dana. There is a great sale on the 6-tube set of Shiva caseins at Dick Blick. It is too good an offer to refuse!

Top marks from me!
Lovely colors and shapes. The frame works so well, too.

Jamie: Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it's soooooo cold!!! You are absolutely right about using a silver frame for this one. The blues and purples in this piece just make you wanna run straight to the fire and get a nice wool blanket. Excellent work, Jamie!!!
