Okay, I'm fairly new to Ebay, as a seller ... as a buyer I'm quite accomplished ... don't tell DH :D
Here's my question. How long should you wait to hear from a buyer. I ended a sales last Thursday evening and still haven't heard from the buyer. I've emailed him/her twice and haven't gotten any response. I'm so used to buyers paying with Paypal right away and finishing the sale fairly quickly. How long would you wait? I'm kind of surprised he/she hasn't answered my emails.
Just wanted your take on it.
Thanks!

I always put "Payment expected within 72 horus of close of auction unless other arrangements are made" for just that reason. I wouln't wait any longer than a week. Could be that they are in a part of the country with tons of snow and no power, or no internet access. Or, could be that they are slackers. Either way, a week with no communication is too long.

I believe per ebays rules, you have to allow 10 days for payment. I usually wait the 10 days, then send a friendly reminder. If I don't hear back within a day or two then I start the NPB process. How fast I do the NPB process really depends on the bidders feedback. Good feedback, I will wait a bit. Bad feedback or very low feedback then I don't wait as long.
I am so lucky to have great bidders and only occasionally do I have to resort to the NPB process.

Thanks Sun and Moon! That's a thought to include something on my ebay description.
Hi Melinda! I'm glad Ebay has some rules about it. It's hard to wade through all the Ebay information, especially with the new pricing, etc.
Have a good night all.

I once had three ebay auctions simultaneously not contact me til the last minute. I was really getting freaked out and i did a search here on Wetcanvas. I found a thread started by Harold that said, "Why I don't get my twisties in a bundle over late-paying ebayers." Something like that. It was a great thread that really made me step back and relax a bit. Everyone ended up paying after all, and my good attitude got me some great feedback.
I looked for it in the search, but it's not showing up. Anyway, I find letting go of the anxiety helps no matter what the outcome.
Good luck!
Jude
