Hello everyone.

I thought I'd start us off on our monthly challenges and since February is the month of love, http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/27-Jan-2005/22248-plugin.gif hearts, http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/27-Jan-2005/22248-heart.gif smoochies http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/27-Jan-2005/22248-action-smiley-0311.gif and mushy stuff I thought what the heck, let's do some miniatures about love.

So, you decide on your subject matter. Anything goes as long as it has to do with love and the colors of Valentines. Just post your WIPs and your finished pieces in this thread.

Awwwww, this thread should be so sweet by the end of February we will all have toothaches. :D :p

Tamara, what a great idea for a February challenge! Does this mean we can all go buy Valentine chocolates as long as we paint the heart-shaped boxes? :D

Darn, I just saw this sweet project thread and I already posted my blushing pink valentine hibiscus flowers! Some of the petals are even heart-shaped which was not intentional! Lori

Three rose minis for Valentines Day! All are 2" x 2" oil on gessoed WC paper.

A rose by any other name ....

Those roses are absolutely beautiful. So lifelike and so small. Did you use watercolor over the gesso or did you use another type of paint? Again they are outstanding

:music: Oh what a luverly bunch of.......roses! :music:
Simply scrumptious..........beautifully painted.......tell me please, do the oils dry out any faster on the gessoed paper? (Don't see why they should - just never thought of using this support for oils!) :D

Jamie - thank you for looking and for such a wonderful comment.
Maureen - So glad you like them. No, I don't think the gessoed W/C paper makes the oils dry faster. I do use Liquin medium with my oils which makes them dry very quickly.

Ok - where's everybody else's miniature valentines????

Jamie! Love this.... I was wondering if it could be presented inside the real Altoid box in some way... like a mini assemblage? A little treasure.... open the real box and there's a hidden painting.

Happy Valentine's Day to All..
