View Full Version : Looking out my window WIP

I've had this idea in my head for about 6 months now and actually started this subject three times in three different media. The tree and window actually exist in my dining room and the cat that will be "looking out my window" exists IRL also. In fact the whole picture story actually happened, except in the summertime. This cat is a "indoor" cat and was really frustrated when that cardinal landed on the branch just outside her window. The media is acrylics, 9 x 14 on matte board. Thanks for your C & C.

Hi Marge,
Sounds like it will be a really great painting. Looking good so far.
Anxious to see this WIP develop into a great painting... :) Bye

I cannot see the cat. I think I've only got half the painting or is that section not finished? What I can see of the window and bird looks good though.

"cannot see the cat" well here she is! Figured I'd better get the whole background done before I tried painting Oreo. So far the white part of Oreo (the cat) has not been done either. This is going much better than the other three attempts I've made at this scene. thanks for C & C, keep 'em coming .

Oh Marge, This keeps getting better.
I love the curtain. Very transparent..
Oreo's pose on the chair is adorable...

I think it's finished. Would like to add something in the lower right corner, but don't know what or if that will make it too much. Now maybe I'll find another cute pose of Oreo. Never painted a cat before. :p

I do see the cat now and you have done an excellent job on Oreo and it was well worth waiting for. You've definitely captured the moment and I'm sure the little bird is breathing a sigh of relief to know that the window isn't open!

Marge, thank you for painting this picture of my cat. This scene is rather dear to me since we had a few cardinals last year that hung around our porch windows banging away at them all day long. Our cat Girl, who is a tuxedo cat, spent endless ours watching them. Thanks for sharing. I think it is well done. :cat:
