I love old photos and beautiful ladies from the past. I was trying my graphite pencil "sketch and wash" and did small 8x10 drawing. After finishing the drawing I did some wash on the fur very gently because I don't have any experience with washing. I think I like it. The scanner made the image look grainy but I wanted to show you what can be done with this pencil and encurage you to try it.
Thanks for looking.

This is very nice I like the way you've drawn the fur, feels like an old drawing from a different time--------------well done------------------Alan

Thank you.
Alan - I like to do different textures and scribble a lot when I draw. Here is another one with the fur. As you can see the fur can be done in different ways - this one was just "shaking" hand scribbles.
Bill - thank you. I have bunch of old photos ref.I am still trying to figure out how to do them to keep the old atmosphere without the look of B/W photo. I was thinking about pastels in color but maybe they will look too theatrical. Still thinking.
JayD - play with this pencil I think it has a lot of possibilities. When I was doing this drawing (first one) I had the feeling all the time I should do it in charcoal but since I was trying sketch and wash I just kept going.
