Well, this is starting to be a little embarrasing... all I have lately is magazines I stupidly have duplicates of!

But lucky someone can have them - just tell me which one(s) you want.

October 2003 Bead & Button (a little beat up, I admit, but still readable - it was lost under the couch for awhile so I bought another one and then found it)

March 2004 Bead Style (this one I remember thinking my subscription had run out but it hadn't)

October 2003 Lapidary Journal Bead Annual (I just spaced it and forgot I had it apparently)

:D

They aren't stone, but they look like lapis. I don't know what they are made of. On my teeth they feel like glass.

Probably Czech glass :) Those guys are pretty good at "imitating" this type of stone ;)

Hey guys,
I, too, have extra magazines that could use new homes. I have a Bead and Button Oct. 2004 and a Bead Style Nov. 2004 brand new in their plastic wrapping.
I asked for free trial issues of each and they sent me two copies of both by mistake. I've been wondering what to do with them. First person to PM me gets them!

They are Vintage Swarovski Glass Lapis Lazuli, Charissa. Maybe glue one down on your surface and surround it with your encaustic work? Could be interesting!

Thank you Brenda! It may be in my mailbox as I type this since I haven't been to check in a couple days!

I have a copy of The Art and Elegance of Bead Weaving and the first to PM me can have it. It's a wonderful book for those who like to work with seed beads including beaded beads, peyote stitches, crocheted ropes, herringbone, spiral rope, etc. THere are wonderful instructions for projects and lots of great pics!

Here is a small but thoughtful PIF for you or somone you care about. :D I will send these to the people who PM me first to claim each one.

The first is an Angel charm, she is flat silghty curved perfect for pinning to a Lapel, or from a rear view mirror. She is about an inch and a half long.

Second is a Sterling silver Claddagh charm is is small about 20mm top to bottom, perfect for a bracelet. The Arms stard for friendship, the crown for loyalty, and the heart for love of course :D

Ok, this is a really weird one, but who knows!!

I got my new Rio Grande Tool and Equipment catalog today. I was wondering if anyone would like the 2004 Catalog. They make a great reference for ordering, have some good info, and the numbers and selection usually doesn't change drastically. Best yet, it's free :D (Just note, this is the Tool catalog, not the Gems and Findings Catalog).

Pay it forward, after the very sad but touching movie. The concept is that instead of paying somone back it is more powerful to "Pay it forward" then that person will Pay it forward again and so on :D

Paying it forward...

I have a very interesting seed bead book. It is written in Russian, but contains some of the most unique patterns for neck pieces, head pieces, bracelets, earrings and fringe. You do not need to be able to read Russian to follow the patterns. The first person to post they want it and PM me their address gets it.

OK, time to renew the Pay It Forward (PIF) thread! I finally did some serious cleaning out of my old studio today. I've been meaning to do this for months but haven't gotten around to it. Thanks to a leaking hot water heater my DH and I finally took the hint to start clearing out the basement (AKA Dungeon). So my first offering is:

White bridal tule. That netting stuff they make veils out of or wrap favors in or wind around things like a floaty ribbon thingy. I have one large piece approximately 1yd x 3yds. Plus 2 spools of 6" x 25yds, one has been opened and a few feet may have been cut off, the other is still shrink wrapped. I purchased these to use in my display and to play with for my dream fairy wings but never found a good use for them.

Anyone interested? PM me and we'll work something out.

Coming soon to a PIF thread near you (I just need to get some photos of them and I'll post them tomorrow).... silk scarf scraps, not good for wearing as they have some holes in them (the alum I soaked them in to dye them ate through some of the fibers) but perfect for anyone who does scrapbooking, collages, mixed media stuff, etc. A whole bunch of different solid colors and a few pieces of patterned bits (these I'm not sure if they are silk or not, they were given to me). I will also be sharing photos of some fake beach glass bits, maybe 1.5 cups worth of odd shaped tumbled bits of glass in purple shades and the same amount of cobalt blue. Could be cool for wire wrapping or some other projects.

Stay tuned, I may find some more goodies in the next day or so!

I'll try to get a photo of it today, I posted my info last night at 2am, it's almost noon here now and I haven't had breakfast yet!

Looks like Polly's interested in the glass bits so I believe that they are now spoken for.

After I eat I'll get photos of the silk and let you know if I find anything else to share.

OK, now that I've had something to eat!

Here is a photo of the silk scarves. I laid them out on my coffee table (put the coke can in the middle for size refference). They are long scarves about 12" wide, in a variety of colors. Two have been spray died by me (a green one and a peach/orange one). The royal blue piece at the top of the photo is actually a scrap of robe velor (probably from one of my DH's costume projects). The two patterned scraps, I think they might be rayon, are at the top right corner. As I mentioned the scarves were pre-treated for marbeling or tie-dying and the pre-soak broke down the fibers so that they tore. So you won't be able to wear them as is but you might be able to use them for some other projects -- which is why I kept them in the first place  but I'm realizing that I need another project on my to do list like a hole in the head!

I'm also posting a photo of the glass pieces that Polly has claimed (not to tease anyone, just to show her what she's claimed). There is a quarter on the table between the two piles of glass to show size.

PM me if you are interested in the scarves or the previously mentioned tule.

OK, the glass is spoken for, I have two people interested in it.

3 of the scarves have been spoken for (1 lt. green, 1 red, and 1 dk blue). The rest are still up for grabs at this time.

The tule is still available.

Now, for the rest of the stuff that I've found:

1 sea shell shaped scarf clip (see photo), also used as a closure for multiple strands of beads. It's gold tone, I have no idea what metal it really is.

2 pairs of large findings (see photo), could be used for chandelier earrings or a conversion piece to go from 1-3 strands to 4 strands. 1 pair in gold, 1 pair in silver. I think they are plastic with a metalic coating

3 pairs of brass "victorian style" findings (see photo), again, great for chandelier earrings or something else.

1 broken hemmitite and gold tone beaded necklace (see photo), I picked it up in the Bahamas, the string broke and the piece has begun to come apart. It's not my style anymore. If you can do something with it let me know.

30 brass colored button cover blanks

13(as in 6 pairs plus an extra) black plastic french style earwires (for people allergic to metal).

A spool of Tiger Tail, it was originonally 30 Ft. long, I have no idea what's left, you should be able to get at least one project out of it.

1 spool of beading thread, white

1 spool of waxed linen thread for beading and knotting.

1 unknown length of jute cord, several projects worth.

Friendly plastic pieces, 1.5" x 3" 3 in silver 4 in gold

7 metal candle wick holders and a length of un-cut candle wick (I know it's not wearable but I found it with the rest of my craft stuff).

See I told you I had a bunch of stuff to share in my old studio!

PM me if you're interested in anything.

PM mean Private Message, just click on my name and then click on "send a private message".

The gold beads on that necklace are a little bigger than "seed beads" more like and "E" bead. If you are still interested Sharon I'll cut the necklace in 1/2 and send you and Polly the two 1/2's.

Pay It Forward like the movie, do something nice for someone just because. The only thing you ask for in repayment is that they pay the favor forward to someone else. In this forum we basically pass useful items that we can't use on to someone that can use them. Duplicate magazines, craft supplies, etc.
