just purchased corel painter and this is my first attempt using the program. I am doing this portrait in pastels and I love being able to work on the computer. (not as messy) Would appreciate any comments.

How much of this is "your" work and how much is the computer?

This looks like it's coming along very nicely - I find the way in which you have a fully worked-up area subsiding into nothingness rather interesting - do you have a sketch-plan on another (hidden) layer for placements - or are you just very confident with your drawing?

How do you feel it compares with "real world" pastels - apart from the lack of dust?

Same questions here. I actually never saw someone working on a painting the digital way in real life either. It needs a very steady had I guess but on the other hand no oily rags :wink2:
