View Full Version : New Bead! Very Excited!!

01-14-2005, 01:06 AM
Here is a new bead from me...I'm really excited about it! I'm guessing I'm at about 34 hours or so now on the torch and this is so much fun it's scary. This bead hangs very nicely on a chain or cord, because the bottom is heavier than the top, so it isn't prone to flipping. The back is quite simple, but I did a lot of decorations on the sides. The pictures are all of the same bead, from the front, sides, and a closeup. I'd love to hear what you think! :D

Mel those colors in that bead are so crisp. I am picking up my jaw off the floor. Sorry let me wipe the drool off as well. You are doing a great job.

Hi again everyone! Yes, I will bring my beads tomorrow...I'm so excited for the metting

As far as the amount of layers...it has a transparent light teal base, then a little bit of a black & white twisty that i made (which is completely covered) then some dichro, some SIS, some more dichro, some more SIS, some trans dark amber, then finished off with decorations using blue aventurine, dark amber, and various reduction frits pulled into stringers. Thrown into a redcing flame a couple of times and that's that :D I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a couple layers, but that's the basic idea ;) I love making these complex beads...they are a real challenge to me! I can't wait to have a better understanding of how reactions work between colors...then I can REALLY have some fun!

Thanks again everyone...you all really made my day!!! :D
