I've been making some bead pens and I really love the new metal ones. Here are some to show you, anyone else making them?

Very pretty Lenda.. Heres one I did as a gift for Christmas. Not a great Picture.
I have an order for 13 more of these with single beads like this one. Billie

These are really great, Lenda! If you twisted my arm to pick a fav, it would have to be the dark pink. But I just love them all! ~ Barb

Lovely pens! I just had a "no duh" moment. You know, it never ocurred to me to put bali spacers on the pens with my beads. I think sometimes I'm a little too left-brained. My favorite is the 2nd, and Billie, yours is gorgeous too!

Ooo, Lenda, they're all beautiful.
Billie, great job on the single bead.
I tried to make a single bead for the one pen that I have and it looked great, but I killed it when I tried to remove it from the mandrel. :crying:
Maybe I'll try again someday.
I'm sure there will be lots of great pens and the Gathering this coming summer. Louisville is practically in my back yard. I hope to meet lots of WCer's there.

Hi,

I just saw the homepage today and decided to order some. I was thinking of black and make some "masculine" beads to put on it.

What about the size? is it difficult to make a set of beads that fits the size of the pen? I am new to this.

Your pens are really nice :p

Best regards
Eva

I have to learn how to take photos that fit on WC!

I made a lot for Christmas. They're great fun to put together.

You can do so much with these pens - make one long bead, or lots of smaller beads. The only limit is your imagination!! And the best part - they write really nicely.

Cheers...Jules

Wow, beautiful pens everyone!!!

Billie! 13 MORE???? Uggh. LOL! Good luck.

Eva, you might want to try a longer bead and 2 spacers like the orange one. Just measure out the shaft that shows on your mandrel and go from there.:D

Juliet! THose are fabulous, great job!

Jules, very cute Christmas pens!

Your pens are all beautiful!!!! I love all of the new colors available in the metal pens. Now I just need to get rid of all of the plastic ones I have left so I can get more in metal!

Really pretty pen Lenda, I like the metal better and really like the silver ones. What kind of solid pink glass did you use? It looks really pink, great. Iona

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!! Really love your pens Lenda!!! I have a couple sitting here next to me on my desk, but I haven't had time to make beads for them.....I feel inspired...maybe this weekend!!!

Lenda

Thanks everyone. Iona, that pink was just Dk Pink opaque glass. Some of it that came was darker than the other and some of it was as light as the Lt Pink opaque!

If you make the long bead too short, just add silver beads like I did. It takes up space and looks nice. :wink2: LOL!

So get those bead pens out!:D

Anyone else got some to show?

O.K. you asked for it.
I didn't like the original display I had for the pens, so I decided to make a card and bag for them. I am still not sure which I like better.
Lots of pix

Lenda, how about those metal pens you are using?
Are they very heavy???

Hi Loraine. Beautiful pens. I think as far as a display goes, BOTh of yours work. I'd leave a couple in the wood display so that people can pick them up and see what they feel like, then have the others packaged in the bag! I think touchy feely is kinda important in something like a pen.

Yes the metal pens are rather heavy. It's not really something you'd want to have to write a term paper or something with. But having it on the desk to write checks or SOME writing it's not bad, but I like something with a little weight to it. Bics just aren't my style!:p

Hey, I just looked again and you have the same metal bead pens. Do you think they're too heavy?

Oh my gosh guys - those are all just fantastic! I too have a pen fetish - I would love to see a kit that is a fountain pen with a metal nib and a small cartridge. Does any supplier offer these? Also, can anyone tell me that the "going" price is for your pens? I'm sure there's a discussion on this somewhere but I can't find it at the moment.

The silver really makes the beads stand out, and the silver spacers are an excellent addition!

Oh Lenda, those are so beautiful.

Do you think..that if I mastered the woodwork, like I did the knitting needles, that you guys would buy wooden bead pens from me? What do you think? They would be handmade wood, so not cheap...would that be a deterance?
Best Regards, Mary Jo

They're all so beautiful! I've always wondered about something, though--are these pens really functional? I mean, are they comfortable to hold and write with? I suppose if someone were to pose with one in hand...
