I don't really check in here that often since there isn't much activity but I really like it here. There is alot of talent and I love seeing people post their work. I would really like to see this place explode with activity and fill up a whole page with post on a daily basis.

I visit several boards across the net that have alot of activity and it is nice to see. You can really get to know people and get new ideas to help you brainstorm. I for one would really like to do this and make it a point to come here several times a day if others would really like to do this as well.

I am working on a new figure out of limestone and am contemplating making the dress part out of metal rather than all stone. I will take a few pics tonight and post them for you too look at.

I need to get out of my 'rut' and get some work done, just need a little kick in the rear!!!

Hi Jason

How nice to see another being in here! We have been trying to get this forum up and moving again. And here is that 'kick in the rear' you mentioned.......to get those pics posted anyway. I can't wait to see them! I think the idea of using metal with stone is very cool. Please consider taking pictures throughout the progress to share with us.

It is my opinion that many people are uncomfortable about showing their work while still in-progress. Even in the projects area I find this to be true. I am not...no matter how goofy my current work may appear! I also appreciate being able to see how others approach things differently. As I am self taught I probably do everything the long way around but I do get some very good ideas form others. I have been trying to come in here at least once a day and hope others do also.

Looking forward to those pics :)

I agree that it would be great to have a bit more activity here. It has not always been so quiet - there have been periods of quite exciting activity before.

I think what makes the difference is being able to establish a little community spirit in the forum. Too many folks pop in to make a post, expecting feedback and without commenting on other's threads. It doesn't take that many people - just a few committed regulars.

So, come on Jason, get those pictures posted!

I have not found another fourm like this one on the net and have looked a lot. It is great to see more and more people come here to visit and post. I tend to check the post several times a day.

The more the better, looking good so far:) :) :) :)

It's been refreshing to see this formum start to hum a little. Thanks Diane555 for helping to get us rolling. Good to see you others posting. Some great work. One problem with sculpture is the length of time from concept to finished work. It would be great to see progress pics so we can see each other work.:)

Wow! Are we coming alive then??? LOL. I have to agree with Max about posting progress pics. Sculpture can be a slow process. It's great fun to throw them up and see how people work through their pieces. As I said earlier we are often afraid to put them up because of criticism but I have found the folks on WC are very polite with all their suggestions and are aware that a 'work-in-progress' is exactly that. And I think we have to remember that we may not know for sure what look the artist is striving for...sometimes we want them a little weird!!!

I love the diverstity of styles and materials used by many in this forum! Makes me want to get some stone, cement and walnut (yikes!) out and make a big mess!

Sometimes seeing the style of others work in can also ispire one to try something new and get those creative juices flowing. Everyone in here has something to share and we can all learn something new. Happy to see lots of posts here lately!

You forgot to mention metal, Di. ;)
