Just a quick pastel sketch. I haven't had the opportunity in a long time to touch, let alone work, with my pastels. But, seeing these on the table while making pie crust, I just had to. 12 x 17 just Nu-Pastels.
Thanks for looking and/or commenting. geri

b-lansing and Rose Queen,

Thank you for looking and commenting. I had put all my pastels away for another day and just took out my Nu-pastels. It was easier as they were still in their original box. Just wanted to do something quick.

Couldn't let these 4 get away and get all cooked up without "immortilizing" them. Glad you enjoyed it. ps the pie was good!!:D geri

Those are beautiful apples. What support are you working on?Canson,
or sandpaper? They're great, and I bet the pie was too.

I also work in pastel, however my apples sure don't look like that. I do mostly landscape thou I'll have to try some apples for sure.

Leirrem2.... Well hi, welcome to Wet Canvas. It's nice to welcome another pastel artist to the forum. This was done on cansen, the smoother side. There's a term for that, which escapes me at the moment. I am looking forward to you posting some of your work. I enjoy landscapes in pastel. Take the plunge it's fun.

Joe, Good to see you in pastel forum again. How are you keeping? Thanks for the compliment, coming from you it means a great deal. Have you picked up your sticks yet? geri

WOW!! This was a sketch???? LOL . . . I'd be proud to hang this one on my wall. Personally, I like the leaves and branches you left on the apples. Really nice addition--adds realism to the piece for me.

Warmest,
Laura

Just picked them up the other day, and already I have 2 pieces in the new Show and Tell.
I like this Forum, gives you the opportunity to post a step by step without having to do the full Monty.
I like showing the step by steps, I know for the more experienced of it, its wee buns, but I like to think it helps people just starting out in their use of pastels.
I try to make the steps easy to follow.

BBW, Thanks so much for your very kind words and your support. Actually, the branch did not go with these particular apples. The apples were purchased at a store. The branch was an after-thought. I have a very old crab apple tree in my backyard. So I just "borrowed" the first branch that I could find that had some leaves still attached. Thanks again, geri

Joe,

I am glad you are here. Would you believe my WC was down from Sunday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon. I see others had posts, so I am not sure what happened that I could not access the site.

I am on my way right now to show and tell. I can't wait to see the demos that you did. I am just so happy you have sticks in hand. geri
