Hi guys, I was wondreing whether this portrait is looking accurate and in proportion at the moment?
I want it to be really good as its of my beautiful pony sasha who I had to sell a couple of months ago, and who I really miss, so I want it to be special.
As I said I'm a novice at this so I'm prepared for harsh comments!!
Sorry about the quality of the pictures- not brilliant!

Hi Artguy,

Very nice start on the portrait of your pony Sasha. I've taken the sketch and drawn lines (hope you don't mind) to show some critical points are slightly off. The top of the ears, cheekbones and top of her nostrils should be roughly parallel to each other.

Look at Sasha's sketch again and see how it can be altered in order to achieve this.

Have fun!

I believe there has been a misunderstanding; this is siyenna's drawing, not mine. I simply edited the pictures for better viewing. :)

Hi Siyenna

I'd also suggest that you include the left eye that is mostly hidden by the forelock. Also check the lines that run vertically on that left side down the length of the nose. I don't have the cool program Artguy has so I can't illustrate what I mean :( .

It will be nice to have this portrait of your very special pony when it's done. You're going to do great!

hi artguy, thanks for uploading the photos for me- I can never work out how to do that!
thank you momof6 and whipdanceur for the very very useful comments, I will definitely take note!
I'll try and keep you posted, but I have very limited use of a digital camera or scanner, so I dont know how long it will be till I can next past an update

Hi Siyenna,

Looks like you are of to a good start. I agree with Jody this is one of the best places to come and learn. I find this site invaluble now. I don't know where I would be without it.

Oh by the way nice to know another rugby fan - lets hope we play a bit better this week :( . I love the lake district - where abouts are you there?
