A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Secret garden
Project Leader: Kalibabe
Relative Difficulty: Easy
Type Restrictions: Any Type
Medium: Any Medium
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

This project is for any mixed medium, any basis for the garden, just let your imagination flow.

To me, it's a fantasy world where you go in your mind to relax, to be calm, to be yourself, to explore.
It can be a typical garden, it could be a sea scape, it could be space, internal (in your head) - anywhere that you percieve to be a 'secret garden'.

Let yourself go and most of all have fun.

Additional Information:

For more information on the project: Click here! (http://www.wetcanvas.com//Community/Projects/index.php?cmd=view_details&proj_id=806)

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

this is the very first picture of my picture lol. It has a huge amount more to go. lots of blending and colour and such. There are a lot of close ups in the gallery too. I am not a painter at all, so this is a huge departure for me. I ahve been so lacking in inspiration recently that I thought a complete change was called for.

This is sort of like my dream.
I am a totally antisocial kind of person.
I love mountains, I love the sun, purple is my favourite colour. I would love a house sort of exposed and isolated like this. I would love to be able to just wander and be away from hustle and bustle and people.

I went to sleep, afraid to wake,
and found my dream came true,
I never thought you'd be this close,
Filled with this peaceful hue.

Thank you for you reaction to my painting.
When I start an abstract I never know where it will take me. It depends a lot on the mood I am in at the time. Maybe putting down your favorite color(s) is a good start. I like having my favorite music in the background to bring me to the proper state of mind. Apply bold strokes using your arm to allow maximum freedom. Perhaps applying some paint blindly in the initial stages will allow your freedom of expression to come out. Shapes are bound to form.
Perhaps you can build from there. Getting started may be the most difficult task.
Hope it stimulates you in some way..... :)

Have to say that I am pretty much with PAKI on this one. I frequently meditate in the bath and tend to see colours more than actual views, they tend to be (when i am calm) pthalo blue and viridian hue. they are so calming.

I 'see' best with my eyes shut, so that I am seeing in my mind's eye rather than being influenced or, interfered with by outside stimuli.

There are many ways to approach this project. It could be your ideal place to be, as in my first attempt. My second one is going to be a mind's eye one that i already have ideas for.

I believe that everyone has somewhere they go in their mind when they need to calm themselves, it's just that many people ahve never stopped to have a good look at this place.

your painting is so peaceful and beautiful. Just looking at it gave me such a sense of calm and peace, it is a truly lovely place to go.

dappled sunlight in the woods. Something i adore - but, I ahve to say i love winter sun. It just seems so clean to me. Winter sun on the frosted ground. My skills don't equate to putting that on paper sadly.

This is beautiful though and the light through the trees is wonderful

Thank you Kalibabe and Laurie2 for the nice comments. I am glad that others can find a little get-away in my painting. I love to travel through other's work as well. Art has given me my release from "ordinary life" and allowed me to access a "more ideal" setting when I choose. To express oneself in some form seems important. We need releases from some of "life's hold on us" and we need to be able to say something meaningful at an appropriate time. I am thankful for this thread,(thank you Kalibabe) and the opportunity to stop and take this journey with all of you.
:wink2: We really need a SECRET GARDEN.
Regards - Paki
