...for illustrating?
Is it as good as they say, regarding uncluttered, intuitive, fast and just all around ease of use?
Have you used other programs that you can compare it to?
Thanks for any efforts!

I don't recall seeing anyone mention Lightwave here, but I do know that some of the members at In Depth Arts use Lightwave.

Check the Manic Modelers forum at:

In Depth Arts (http://www.indeptharts.com/)

Then come back and show us some of your Lightwave work... or any digital artwork you've done.

Good luck! :)

Never used Lightwave, but I've been told by friends who use it that it's pretty good. I used to use 3D Studio Max quite a bit and I liked it but then I switched over to Cinema 4D XL. As far as I'm aware they are pretty similar. The only thing about using it for illustrating in my own opinion is that you have to carefully plan out what you want because it alway took me ages to model using NURBS. but once you had the model complete you could generate loads of different images and animations. If you have the time to learn the application I'd do it, as it'll pay off in the long run.
