System Downtime

Hi gang, we had a small hardware issue this afternoon involving one of the drives in the web server. All is fine now, but we're going to be replacing it tomorrow (although no downtime is expected in the process).

Hi everyone,

The server went down today because of a hardware issue in the data center in GA.

Scott is still in the process of fixing it and is actually racing home in his car right now to resolve the remaining issue with the hard drive for attachments.

He will have to take the server down again for at least another two hours to fix the issue with the attachments hard drive.

He'll post later tonight with a full update on what happened once this is resolved.

It's going to be a late night. :)

Hi, gang.

A quick update for everyone.

First and foremost, the site should be back up and running fine now, attachments included.

The other day, when I installed the new hard drive, I must have accidentally managed to snap the little clip on the back of the pins on the other IDE drive, which apparently damaged one of the little pins. Evidence below, taken from my cell phone camera in the data center. You can see the cable and the broken clip laying next to my duffle bag :) That caused some communication problems on the server (obviously - lol).

Cable is replaced, all is well, and there is joy in Mudville. Now I return you to your regularly scheduled programming ... :)
