View Full Version : A WIP I'm working on
12-12-2004, 01:09 PM
My computer problems have had an added benifit of extending my use of my PainterIX trial so I have been working on painting a landscape of a scene I would have grown up with from my bedroom window, as it is some 50 years later. The first 3 planes are complete, I have at least two more to go the complete the two fields in the foreground.
I cropped most of the unfinished canvas off. I also included a detail image.
I am using the Wet Oil brushes from the Art Brushe group. With some smudge brushing.
The sky was two layers which I composited using the Lighten blend mode.

Oh, that sky is beautiful. I love the colors. just beautiful
I agree with keyshamari, the sky is beautiful i like the touch of lilac on it. I see that a bit of lilac is on the light fog over the hills- I like the cool palette- :) :) :)

This looks like it is going to be a good one Edie! I will try to remember to watch for the finished painting.

I am between leaving it at this stage or detailing the ditch adding the mailbox at the end of the lane and putting in the fence around the pastures.

The sky texture and colors (blues, purples, grays) are beautiful! I also really like the vivid colors you use in the landscape, including the oranges and yellows. The way you painted the yellow pasture towards the hills gives a sense of a partly cloudy day with light peeping through the clouds. Very nice!

Beautiful Edie. I would leave as is I think. perhaps a couple birds in the sky. I love the wide open space feel it has.
