wow. this one is truly great. i dont think the colours 'take over'. in fact if they do take over..i like what i see. you are really teetering on a balance between abstract and figurative and these reduced forms are very exciting. have you read Ernst Gombrich's Art and Illusion? much is said about essential forms and understanding space and the way the eye puts it all together. in this approach to painting that you have here..i feel like i've really accomplished something as the viewer..in piecing this lovely combination of colours and shapes into a discernable and interesting painting. great job.

The lavender seemed a bit shocking, at first -- but maybe my eyes just needed to adjust because they did and it seemed to fit nicely, especially against the teal of that green.

I wonder what answer he's waiting for that she's contemplating so pensively about...

What I like most is how the drip defines the languid lilt of her hand...then I just explore the fun of it.
