Been getting re-aquainted with charcoal drawing lately. Charcoal on newsprint. Comments?

This beautiful...
A calm feeling of "pause" - having time and space to think, or maybe remember, or dream... I really like the mood. She looks both polished, and natural...
The lips look a little less finished than the rest of the drawing, this works, to pull focus to the eyes, but if you wanted to make them more 3d, perhaps a bit more shading along the bottom of the upper lip, and more of a shaded hollow below the bottom edge of the lower lip.
I really like the shading around her forehead, this helps make her hair look more 3d, which is otherwise difficult with black hair.
I'm also very impressed by the hand - very realistic and very expressive, it is positioned just right for her expression and looks natural there, not posed. The little finger (against her teeth) looks longer than average, but it looks like this could be that she has long fingers, not that it is "too long."
Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks for the crits & comments.
Its always amazing to me how much I miss until it is pointed out. I usually don't rework my stuff, I note the suggestions and try to apply them to the next piece. This time I think I'll have a go at some of the suggestions. I'll repost it in this thread when it's finished.

Cool stuff although I think I'd prefer seeing it with less charcoal on the background.
