Well it's almost 1am here in COLD Maryland! I'll get the Show and Tell started!

The first set I made following Allison Turner's fabulous tutorial I stumbled upon somewhere here on WC! :D The second set is using Val's fuchsia frit over clear and the third set of lighthouses is Moretti glass. I'm still getting caught up with photography and eBay listings from all the stuff I made over the Thanksgiving holiday! :) Then I'd best get cracking with Christmas gifts! ~Juliet

Well, this is my first time at starting a Show-n-Tell thread, figured since I'm up and it's nearly 1 am might as well! This is a set from tonight, some periwinkle/lapis/silver strike boro beads, quite a bit smaller than my usual (the focal is only about 17.5mm). Top o' the mornin' to ya!

Deb/Littlecrow....I wanna be you when I grow up! Fab flowers! I wouldn't wear them around bees, they surely would confuse them for the real thing!

Wow! Everyone has been busy!

I haven't had time to post lately, been swamped with Open House prep for this weekend. Once I recover I'll need a piggy thread to myself!

I just had to pop in and share this one. I took a quick pic to share with a friend and it looked so nice I had to show off.

Black base, SIS, raku stringer, green adventurine stringer (I think? it was in the jar, lol) and a few more dots of SIS.

WOW!! Some really great beads today. Here's my latest set. I've already got it strung up and around my neck. I wonder if I'll ever list any on ebay - I want to keep them all!!

Wow, nice poinsettias! And jiminy, how on earth can you write like that with stringer? I can't even do that on a cake, much less at a thousand degrees. Great job!

----------------------------
edited to add:

Sachiko, those florals are very nicely rendered. Many people have tried the Kristen Frantzen-Orr type irises, but you've captured them with a lot of delicacy and finesse.

Looked up your profile -- your children are adorable.

Best wishes,
Barb

Thanks for the compliments everyone :)
The trick I use to do the writing is to encase the intense black (or whatever color you're using) with a little clear, then pull into stringers. The clear makes the stringer a bit firmer, and also keeps colors that tend to bleed and spiderweb (like intense black) under control. And.......take your time!
Now, if only I could write on a cake like the beads! For birthdays, I'm usually in such a hurry, that the writing comes out looking like a 3 year old wrote on it.
