This piece has been completed on Gallerey-Wrap Canvas to enhance it's appeal for the 13 yr. old girl who will be receiving it for Christmas.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I guess I'm basically after a general reaction to the painting. Critiques are cerainly welcome, though I currently consider the painting finished.

Jim...this is terrific...what a happy girl she will be to receive this...:) Great job!

One small nit, where the branch goes up & 'kisses' the ear, I would have placed it behind the ear.......but that's so small in relation to all that is well done! Would have liked a clearer photo but sometimes it's isn't always possible.

Thanks artbabe21,
That piece of Bamboo did kinda get abit larger as i progressed through the painting. The sections were thinner and shorter and after checking out a real piece of bamboo (in-hand) I tried correcting it.
As far as a clearer picture of the painting goes, if you click here (http://www.artworkbyjim.com/pandafinal.htm) you'll get a little larger shot of it, but the sheen over the entire canvas will still remain due to the Damar retouch varnish that I'd sprayed shortly prior to the photo being taken.
If you'd like to get up close and personal with the face of the bear you can...by clicking here (http://www.artworkbyjim.com/pandacute1.jpg). I've also placed a "Work in Progress" (http://www.artworkbyjim.com/inprogress.htm) section on my website which follows along with this and other past paintings that I've completed.
Thanks again for checking out my painting and for your comments

Right after I am struck by how lovely the overall painting is, my thoughts are drawn to how well you did the Panda's fur...the sun-bleached fur is incredible. Fantastic work!

I love the greens; especially that Jade shoot of bamboo.

Me too! Lovely handling of the foliage as well as the panda's fur. I'm sure the little girl will be very pleased with her painting. Nice work.

Thanks everyone
I brought the painting into the Elementary School where I work. The Art Teacher has it and is showing all the kids throughout the week.
The buyer is taking it home from the School.
Now I need to start painting for myself for awhile, in order to build up a collection. I'm glad you like my work :)
