This is just lovely! It reminds me of a French film I saw as a child, "The Red Balloon" (I know it's not red here, but that doesn't matter, the feeling is the same). It's about a little boy who just loves his red balloon more than anything in the world and then one day it flies away. It was a very beautifully filmed piece. There's a poingnancy about this painting that brings me the same feeling.

Happy birthday pipicacassosso! Have a wonderful year...

Tam sweetheart!! This is the most amazing, surprising, gorgeously unbelievable present. YOU ARE AN ANGEL!!!

Tam, you are becoming sooooooo gooood!! Just great. The warms and heavy black outlines on the right against those colds on the left. Great composition. Terrific texture.

Hey Pi
Have a great day! With all the love of the world surrounding you!
If you are somewhat like that little guy in the picture, I feel with you, it will only last a day but forever to look back on it with a good feeling!
So just enjoy!

Look what all of your friends here at WC chipped in to get you :) Just a little something to show our appreciation regarding your contributions to the forum.

We thought about buying you a bottle of wine, but knowing how you LOVE wine, we opted to invest in a vinyard instead -- knowing that our monies would soon return with a healthy investment with YOU doing all the work too, that is. I mean it IS your birthday after all.

Here's a photo of the Pinot Noir grape just turning red...

Clive Coates once wrote that Pinot Noir can "... seduce like the first kiss from someone you are just about to fall in love with."

We hope you enjoy.

Had a little money left over and realized that it would take you awhile to cultivate and produce; therefore we opted to go ahead and supply some stock for you to sample in the mean time. Unfortunately, we couldn't agree on which wine...of course -- so we opted for a variety --

And then, of course...we argued about how tacky it would seem to give a vineyard and wine without one of those basket thingies containing fruits and cheeses. So we emptied our pennies and rounded up a few more contributors and were able to purchase this, which we thought would be very convenient when you finally reach where the wheatfeild meets the azure skies... (I of course wanted a green bow but was out-voted by one vote (It was Mikey who was the swing vote if you must know)).

We threw in some cheese, crackers, Mendocino mustard, cheese straws, California pistachios, cheese tray, Ghirardelli assorted chocolates, boysenberry cheesecake cookies, and biscotti.

And last but not least, and because I've always saved my dimes like pennies ;), and no one asked for dimes but pennies....I had quite enough left over for a gift certificate for a full years supply of all you can eat Ben & Jerry's Pistachio Pistachio Icecream!!

Who says dreaming isn't fun?! Don't forget to make that wish before blowing out your candles and ALL of this could be yours soon. ;)

I like the repretition and variance

Okay here's a MUCH better shot (I hope). I like THIS crop better as well (I think) because it emphasizes the CORNER (duh!!!). Course it's Pipi's painting so he can crop it how he wants it. ;)

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, support etc. Jerry, good eye on the repetition; a jig and a dance.

Merci!!! Madame!!! I just returned from a most wonderful outing (where I observed two young lovers and their giddish behaviour which I shall try to paint tonight!!!) and thought my day couldn't be ANY brighter!!! You have made me so happy!!! I should have learned by now that compared to YOU, Madame -- the sun is not so bright after all...(but the wind is still cold! le'brrrrr). ;)
