A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Santa 2004 Wishes List
Project Leader: anney
Relative Difficulty: Irrelevant
Type Restrictions: Collage
Medium: Mixed Media
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: 44
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

Do you remember making your list/letter when you were a child? It was probably one of your first Collage/Mixed media piece of art. What about doing it again?

Some suggestions:
- what if you could ask "anything" to Santa?
- don't forget to tell Santa how to get to your home!
- a nice composition with your actual or past wishes want and some wrapping paper.

It's not an exchange, so if you're inspired, you can choose a large format!

But your "letter" (can be on canvas) has to be ready by December 24th, 2004!

Have fun.

Additional Information:

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

I'm in. I think I'll sit down with both my boys and all of us can make our own. If this isn't the perfect project to enjoy with your children and the perfect time of year to do it nothing is.

Thanks for starting this. I'll post all three of ours when they are done.

Li, we will miss you, but you must be so busy with the move etc.

Mary, Liz and Penny, Thanks for joining.

Is the wrapping paper to use as collage?

Probably not archival, but, yes, I ment it for collage.

How old are your boys Penny? Mine are 5 years and 3 months (also boys).

I started one! Cutting out paper sounded like the perfect occupation for a tired mother tonigth... I still have to work out the composition and background (so I'm not even half way).

OK, I have a problem. Now that we are working on huge foam core poster boards the boys insist that the only way for Santa to know is to mail it to him. How will Santa know without having to mail the poster boards to him?

You're probably going to scan or take a picture of it for the project. Why not send the photo of it to Santa?

A great festive mood, and nice composition too. I hope you have fun and that Santa brings you what you wish!

I also found it difficult to find out what I wish, but somehow it's a good question to ask oneself in order to keep some dream in our life too.

That's a boy's wishes list for sure. Did he wrote all the texts on his own? He is already very good! And he is not asking for too many things.

Yup, he did all the writing on his own. I'm lucky, he loves to learn and practices his writing all the time.

I love those Kali, they are very creative. I can hardly wait to start mine but I have to get together my 5 grandchildren or do it in installments. I think I am going to start the background and let them finish the rest.

My son started his (in fact he has started cutting out games catalog for a long time, and in fact he gave me the idea for the project!).

Just to give you the picture, I was on the (old) sofa of our computer/studio room, giving the bottle to Paul, and Thomas was with glue, pens and paper on a protected area on the floor... So he did it mostly on his own!

One step further for me. I'm quite happy with my Yin/Yang like composition, but I'm still unsure where to put the wishes.

Very nice so far. I still have to finish mine and my boys have gone nuts with theirs. They add new things to them every day. Who would have thought they could have covered a 20 X 30 board and run out of room. My one son has moved onto the back of his lol. I guess they want just a few things. I dread shopping this year.

OK, so Santa has to go on top of the "K" of HKentucky.. he can't get lost!
You found a great wrapping paper, the little drawing are fun (thanks for the close-up). I'm not sure about the availability of World peace, but I hope the pets will get something :D.

Nathaniel, thanks for participating in the project. The colourful feathers are nice, and you've organise a nice tour round kentucky for Santa (I suppose you advice him to follow the red line, don't you).

Thanks Mary. Well the upper left is wrapping paper. My only merit was managing to glue it without tearing it up! I used PVA glue on the support rather than on the paper, and it remind me great redecorating times :D.

anney, I've been slow getting mine done but I will try to get it done this week. There has been a lot of drawing in JayS's weekly class and I also want my grandchildren to put their wishes on the card.
