View Full Version : Free yupo samples

I have been curious about Yupo paper for a while now, but not so much as to pick up a sheet...then i came across a link for free Yupo samples. I filled out the form and hit submit and expected it would be months before I saw anything...and i was convinced it would likely be pre-printed samples of yupo to demonstrate how people use it commercially...

Well - 2 weeks later a large envelope is in my mailbox. in the envelope was a few pre-printed samples...and an assortment of 10 different sheets of different weights of blank Yupo (all 8.5 X 11). I was quite impressed. the sheets have a small section along the bottom with the Yupo logo and telling what weight the paper is, but other than that - they are blank and ready to paint on!

Anyway - I haven't painted them yet (I just wrestled the envelope open and had to share the discovery immediately). I figured I would send along the link in case any of you wanted to give it a whirl.

have fun! :D

Yupo is fun

They would not give me any more free samples, even though I said I was a poor starving Artist :crying:

Have you had free samples from them before, Flattwo? I notice that the UK is not on their mailing list.

Maybe it will help loosen me up! :D :p

I love Yupo- it bleeds and creates things even better than you can imagine- it is impossible to not paint loose- if you don't like a section, you just wipe it off- just remember to wipe the sheet off with rubbing alcohol or a bit of soap and water before painting- to get the oily fingerprints off (they repel the water) Andy

Glad to be able to help out! :D

For those of you who the site says it can't ship to...have you tried emailing Yupo directly. Maybe if there is enough interest, they will consider adding your country to the list? Worth a try, right?!?!

YUPO is great stuff!! It has certainly freed me from the angst of ruining an expensive piece of paper. It has also allowed me to move my painting in new directions. Anyone interested in what various artists on Wet Canvas have learned about YUPO should use the WC! search function and search on the word "Yupo". You will find lots of good advice.
