There are two good books for beginners and advanced artists that I have found at my local bookstore by Lee hammond

1.Draw REAL PEOPLE
2.DRAW FAMILY AND FRIENDS

I have only started drawing people and they look really good because of these books.

"Pastel"
by Daniel Greene
"Portraits from Life in 29 Steps"
by John Howard Sanden
"Leonardo da Vinci's Advice to Artists"
by Kelen (this is an old book and can be found in a library.)
"How to Draw Lifelike Portraits from Photographs"
by Lee Hammond
"How to Paint and Draw People"
by Samuel Marshall
