This is very cool.. It reminds me of early pre-columbian art, and the expression on her face is excellent!
Will you glaze or paint this piece?
Or leave her as is?

Yes, kinda like Antony Gormley's Field (http://www.stroom.nl/engels/archive/korpresentationsfield.html) . It also makes me think of a chess piece and whether it would be interesting to do an alternative chess set of different figures.

Great job, Ruth! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thank y'all! Roxanne, this is painted with three shades of tan latex house paint and a sponge to give it that "ancient" look. Shriner and Sandra, I made five of these and gave one to each woman in my Monday Night Dinner Club for Christmas. That was the end of it. Never got back to doing anything else, and the lump of clay has hardened. Oh, well. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Roxanne, it's called "Marblex", and it feels just like the clay I used to make ceramics with. There are no instructions on the box about firing it, though. It just says that dried pieces are not waterproof.
