 Washeroos!

Can't believe it is almost 1:30 am EST and there is no Thursday WASH started!

Vestalqueen (Erin or the Woman known as Lou) broke her left wrist Sunday and had to have emergency surgery that night. She broke both the radius and ulna! Send white light folk, please! I don't know yet how she did it. :(

I see the doc today and, hopefully, the boot will come off!

Best wishes to those in the virtual Medical Rooms.

May your today be better than your yesterday.

Morning each,

Ahhhhhhhhh.........the Drookit has been washed away down the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Hi Lyn, can't sleep again?

Off to work on my challange, this darn masking, it's slowing everthing up. Could use an hairdryer but frightened that it may melt the masking into the paper. I hope it works, no time left to do another. And the poem.............who agreed to this?

BBL.

{Edit} Foxed me there Lyn, put more info in, you'll miss the foot, just imagine no more sitting on the edge of the bed and flinging your foot over............

Hope Erin is OK after her op, healing light from Lancashire fighting through the pouring rain.

Anita, congrats on the job! :D

Kev, LOL, it's funny! Every night when I get in bed, I think of you! :D I reckon when the boot comes off, you won't be in my thoughts as often!! :wink2: BTW, I learned a long time ago to start the WASH w/just a quick sentence, then come back and edit at leisure. It certainly saves a lot of hassle in asking the mods to combine simultaneous posts!

Yes, I have my days and nights mixed up again--it happens about once a month to me. Ed and I are usually late night folk anyway--we prefer a late bedtime and a late getting up time, but the world doesn't usually let us sleep as late as we'd like to--we go to bed at 2:00 am and the world seems to think we should be up by 8:00 am. LOL

The weather here is gorgeous right now--blue "October sky" and puffy white clouds--in the 70s (F) and down in the 40s and 50s at night. Perfect.

Chris, the UT kicker does fine--he doesn't need my help! However, I think the quarterbacks will need some help "between the hedges" on Saturday!  :D GO VOLS! Beat those Dawgs!

  Translation required on ailse 3. I know Chris mention football yesterday, but this sports speak kills me

Yes Lyn when I start the wash I do exactly the same thing. It helps eliminate x-posting. The only confusion it causes is for the eagle eyed person who jumps in before you post your edit.

Good morning peeps.

Kev, I hope you manage to finish your challenge painting in time.
I started putting in the first washes last night, it looks ok up to now, but once I start trying to separate the trees, it will probably end up a muddy mess.

Lyn I hope your boot comes off today, your leg won`t feel half as heavy. :D

Today, I`ve got a man coming to measure up and give me a quote for a conservatory.
My friend is coming this afternoon, but hopefully, I can do some more work on my challenge painting, I like to try and get it done a.s.a.p. so that I can relax for the rest of the week :D

Right I must go and crack the whip, otherwise these kids will never get to school, and we can`t have that  I wanna paint!!!!!!!

Good evening (morning) peoples. I'm about to head into Oct 8th and just thought I'd say good night and welcome you to the 7th.
How confusing!

Just had two games of Cluedo tonight with hubby and the kids. I won both games much to their dissapointment. :D Had a couple of games last night as well but us oldies didn't win anything.
Do any of you play cluedo? It's a great thinking game and wonderful for the kids. It requires them to listen and pay attention. Their ages are 14, 13 and 11. Our 9 year old can't manage it yet but sits and watches.

Got to go to the dentist in the morning then I'm taking my parents to the airport. They're off to Aussie for a wee holiday. Lucky for some! So won't have much painting time but the weekend is almost here so should get something done then.

Well have a pleasant day!

Good Morning all,

Just a little past 4:30 a.m. here in Ohio. Very still and quiet outside, the tapping of my keys sounds LOUD because it is so quiet. LOL!

We are having that glorious weather that is so enjoyable at this time of the year. Cool enough at night for a spread on the bed, but warm enough during the day to walk around without a jacket or sweater.

Lyn, What a bummer for Erin! OUCH! Sounds like she must have taken a bad fall to break her wrist so badly. Hope she is doing OK. Definitely have her in the White Light Room.

Hope your visit to the doctor goes well and you are bootless in Tennessee later today. Kev did paint an indelible word picture about you getting into and out of bed with your cast on, didn't he??

Kev, Good idea not to use a hair dryer on a painting with masking fluid. I've read in several WC books that the heat sets the fluid and makes it much more difficult to get off when you want to remove it.

Sharon, A conservatory sounds like it would be nice to have. Will it be a freestanding building or attached to your home so you can enter it without going outside in bad weather? I always think of the game Clue when I hear the word conservatory: "Col. Mustard, with a knife, in the Conservatory."

Elaine, Have no clue about Cluedo, but it sounds like fun. The kids and I always liked to play games, DH hates them (except for poker which he played ever since he was in high school eons ago).

Anita, Way to go with the job! So glad you were offered a job that you want and that will certainly be easier on you physically as well as more challenging mentally. Are you taking a little break between jobs, just for yourself to paint, relax, enjoy the Fall weather????

Today's painting class schedule says Class will discover the secrets of painting fall color! Whew, just in time since all the trees are already turning gold, yellow, russet, and red. ;)

Hope all who are ailing or aching feel better today.

Off to check out the Gallery.

SYL,

Sylvia

Good morning!!!!!

Returning to the wash after 2 days of the DD's (JT's droops ;) ) Feeling a bit more lively today, and starting work on a commission I've put off for weeks. It's a re-do of the white lilies I painted as a gift for DH's nephews engagement last year. I'm trying out stapling my paper to foamcore, it does seem alot easier than fighting with masking tape (although I still taped around the edges to leave a border).

Good luck at the doctor's, Lyn! LOL @ you thinking of Kev when you go to bed, most of us probably think of, say, Brad Pitt or Sean Connery ;) (not me of course! )

Poor Erin, that must be very painful! White light to her, and if you get the chance pass on my hugs and love.

Sylvia, Cluedo is the same game as Clue, just named differently in the UK and obviously NZ too :) On the rare occasions we get the games out in this house we end up with all-out war - not worth the stress! lol

Sharon, keep cracking that whip at Andy too! :D

Kev, definitely a wise move not to use the hairdryer on masking! Hot sun melts the stuff and makes it impossible to remove, so I'm sure hot air would do the same.

Congrats to Anita on the new job!

Time to get on with painting, I think! Hugs and white light to all,

Ruth

One evening, on the phone to his son the Old Guy said it was time for bed and that he'd just had his Horlicks (**) and Viagra. Son said nothing, but when he was next in the Nursing Home cornered the 'Boss' and repeated what his father had said. ......

'Surely' said the son ' my father got confused.........what IS it youre giving him with his Horlicks ?'

'Oh no' said the boss ' hes not confused - the Horlicks is to make them sleep and the Viagra's to make sure they dont fall out of bed !!!!'

(pssssstttt - the leaves aren't green anymore... drat, I never could keep a secret    )

White light to Erin. That's a bad break, hope she's ok. Was it her painting hand? I hope not!

We're also having just lovely weather; cool, clear nights with warm and dry days.

:D My mom is out of ICU!! They're making arrangements to place her in a rehabilitation facility (re nursing home) so she can start the long road back. I'm flying up Saturday to see her.

Went out to dinner last night. Very nice place, good food, a little pricey. Won't be on our "regular" list but nice for an occasional visit. Boy, out to dinner on a Wednesday night! Not having kids at home anymore certainly changes your lifestyle.

Not much else happening. I still haven't started "the elephant" (said in deep, sepulchral voice with ominous music accompanying). It's beginning to loom over me and gets bigger every day. And now I have even more ways to procrastinate! I'm heading north Saturday and won't be back until Monday and then Wednesday I'm going to a math teachers conference (or as my daughter says 'the calculator and pocket protector extravaganza') in Baltimore and then to Delaware to see my girls. Won't be back from that 'til the next Sunday. By the time all that's done my 40x26 piece of paper will be at least 6 feet tall (at least in my mind  )

Well, think it's time to start getting ready for my students. I haven't had enough coffee but it's too late now!

Go Red Sox!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!! and the fantastic weather continues, high today 26C (almost 80F). My lovely Cosmos has survived the several days of heavy frost and are still blooming

Thinking of JJ and how lucky she is to be in this country during this gorgeous weather!!

I had a wonderful time at my austrian friend's coffee clatch. She had invited several of her other friends as well and it was fun. Painting today!!!

((((((((Erin)))))))) - ouch, ouch, I broke my wrist in 1991 and it sure hurts. Couldn't even pick up a hair the fingers were that sore but after about a week the cast was the only nuisance, but then I didn't have an operation on it either. Sending healing lights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lyn - Erin's goes on and yours comes off (hopefully!!!). Your leg will feel sooooo light you'll wonder if you lost it :D

Anita -   re your new job!!!!

Sylvia - looking forward to your fall painting!!

Ruth - and here I thought you were too busy painting, painting!!!!! Sorry you felt down and glad you are getting a bit of energy back - commission? - :D

Sending healing lights to all who need them and wishing everyone a wondeful day!!!!

Popping back in before I run out the door (I'm late, can you tell? )

I just saw a new story, they arrested a high school student for planning a "Columbine style massacre" at Marshfield, MA high school. The kid had building plans, notes on which exits to block, lists of students and teachers and there was evidence behind his house of a test of 'an explosive device'. BRRRRRRRRR. Gives me chills just to think of it. Particularly since I grew up in Marshfield and went to that high school! Jiminy Cricket! I cannot even conceive of how a mind can get to such a state that something like this can be contemplated.

So, after that little nugget of sweetness and light, I'm off to work.

'morning all!

zipping through before I start the "get ready for work" routine...

Lyn, sending beams of white light and healing vibes to Erin... I'm cringing at the thought...ouch! and hoping your boot comes off today...good luck!

AND, I got to meet Dave (droll13) last evening! :D The Huntington Beach Art League had their monthly meeting, and I've been meaning to join. Sent Dave a note, and he showed up too! Was very cool, he's a really nice guy! :D Lots of very nice people at the meeting. They had a demonstration in water miscible oils by a very talented artist/teacher. Amazing how quickly he finished a small painting. I won one of the raffles (a mousepad, but a cool artsy mousepad) :p. Also, they have a monthly members show, so I took a painting to enter. :music: I got Honorable Mention :music: :D :D :D I was sooooo jazzed!!! (and surprised) So, needless to say, it was a great evening!

Well, the time is slipping by, must rush to the shower and get ready for the day.

Sending white healing light and positive vibes to those who need them, and 11 hugs to all...

Have an inspiring day!

HI everyone

Thanks to Sylvia, Chris for you PM's.

Yes, I'm really blown away that they offered me the job so fast. They were looking for 2 positions & I guess I got one. I'm excited but also getting alittle nervous. On the new job I will not be doing direct patient care. I will be doing more paperwork - assisting with referrals, setting up tests, patient teaching. The referral unit is a new dept being implementated at 15 military bases. So it's new for them too. I guess we'll all learn together. I am being sent a packet with lots of paperwork to do for my security clearance.

One good thing is that I am leaving on good terms from current employer. I want to be able to continue to visit my Alzheimers patients. ;)
The change will make my Dr. happy too. My family is thrilled. My 16 yo son especially. No evenings, no weekends. I had made a decision that if I went back to take any classes I was going to go in the direction of Heath Information Management so this just fits well.

Lyn - So sorry to hear about Erin's hand. Let her know we're all thinking about her.

Bob - Great about your mom. Gee you're gonna be busy for the next few weeks.

OK - I have completely forgot who else I wanted to say something too so to all Have a good day. I know I am.

Morning All!

Too busy to reply to, but just had to stop and reply to a couple of people.

(((Erin))) can't imagine how you are feeling right now as I have never broken a bone, but you have my sympathies.

Lyn, hopefully your boot will come off today and you can enjoy having two feet the same size again.:D

Jana, back to work! Stop looking in at WC! Work! Work! Just joking... nice to see you again.:)

Pat, glad you got a lie-in today. I guess this means that things are settling down at you house? How's Jamie doing today?

Anita, congratulations on the job! It sounds exactly like what you had been looking for. Starting from scratch will mean that you can design your own methods. Not a bad thing when everyone is learning together...:)

Okay, I am now rushing off a la Jana. I start tutoring today (it was cancelled Tuesday) and have to get my programmer husband out of bed two hours(!) earlier than he is used to.

Take care.

Afternoon all

Was here at 8 am, but not much to report, so ...

Just been to the local hospital with Ruth for her follow up examination for insurance purposes resulting from the road accident last October. Specialist said he would support her claim, which is a relief because the accident has meant she has had to give up her hobby of outdoor bowling - a gentle form of exercise which used to keep her fit :( We're hoping the compensation will cover the cost of the electric lift and recline chair we have just bought for her.

It's a lovely day here, the wind has dropped and we have blue sky and temps around 16 C, 61 F.

Gave away one of my Newburgh originals this morning as a retirement gift for an old friend. It's nice to think of your work going onto people's walls.

Poor Erin - hope she can still manage, I once fell down stairs and broke both wrists - took 10 weeks before I could start work again. Hope the boot comes off OK, Lyn and you can skip out of the hospital :D

Good luck with the new job, Anita - it will be good to get away from all that lifting.

Well CRS has set in so regards to everyone, BBL,

Doug

Quickly popping in.

Congratulations to Mary Lou - what a great evening for her at the HB Art League meeting. I would have been happy to win a mouse pad in the raffle. ML got that and an Honorable Mention in the watercolor category. There were some outstanding member works in WCs - about 20 in all. But her painting was clearly deserving of an award.

I ended up joining the League, just as ML did. Maybe next time I'll bring something to the members show - either a watercolor or a photo. And if I hurry, I might have time to get something framed for display at an ongoing show the HB Art League has at the local library

For those interested in the water-mixable oil painter ML mentioned (and his work is very good - he has such clean and crisp colors that they look like acrylics to me) his name is Tom Brown. Here's his website: Tom Brown Studio (http://www.tombrownstudio.com/).

As always, nice photos in the wash today.

Gotta run.

I'm still up! It is 9:45 am and I have not been to bed all night! I was working on a project that my husband and I are doing for a widowed friend of ours. We are trying to dispose of her husband's collection of Civil War prints. I'm going to try to get a couple of hours before doc's visit.

I'll pass on your concern and white light and hugs to Erin! And I'll let you know what doc says about me when I get home.

More later.

Me again,
 waving to everyone I missed earlier.
also sending hugs to Erin, sounds painful.
Ruth sorry your not feeling so well.Hope it`s past the worst now.
Sylvia, yes the conservatory will be attached to the house, so no going outside in winter.
Bob, glad to hear your mum is out of ICU, have a nice visit, and don`t give that bil the satisfaction of letting him know he got to you.

I`ve just got to tell you all this or I`m gonna pop  I`ve done my week 2 painting  .
My intention last night was to "just draw it out" before I went to bed, well as usual I couldn`t stop there, I got carried away and laid in the first couple of washes, then some more...............you know the story.
Two hours later I was still there. I just didn`t notice the time flying by.
Anyway, I realised that I`ve got a busy week on this week, so I thought I`d do "just a bit more" this morning.
I`m sat merrily painting away when the man arrives about the conservatory
I hadn`t washed the breakfast dishes or anything, the ironing board was out, and kids nighties etc were everywhere :o
Anyway when he left I thought, well I don`t have to rush around tidying up now so I might as well do some more, and lo and behold I finished it.
At this moment in time I`m quite pleased with it, but I`ve taped it to the wall, so I can look for faults, and with fresh eyes over the next few days . I`m sure the next time I look at it I`ll want to start again :D

Glad I got that lot off my chest, just in time to go and collect the kids from school. Apart from Stephanie (7yo) who has been poorly today.

Ruth and Sylv and others, CRS, thanks for warning me of the hairdryer for the masking, but I've just wached the Joe Francis Dowden video again, where i got the technique from and he blasts his with TWO!! hairdryers, one in each hand. Now would you credit that.

I managed to get the masking off, used a whole rubber, (better say eraser as well) and with all that rubbing got a blister on my finger. :crying:

Anyway it was worth it the beach front looks stunning, shame about the rest of the painting. It's all finished now and waiting to send it off to Chris so he can post them together, well thats what I think we said we'd do. Must PM him.

And another thing, I watch these artists being mega destructive with their papers, masking, putty rubbers and masking tape.....but why is it that when I try it goes wrong. I used masking tape all round the edge of the painting, it was on for three days whilst I hurled paint and masking at it. It was the cheapo stuff, I take it off no problems. Get the low tack stuff out put that on to protect the edge while I finish, it's on for 3hours max, and rips the paper off in lumps as I take it off. Does anyone else have this sort of problems with masking tape?

Oh I'm off to put the 1st painting in the old thread, Year of the Painting Project of Pams so if you want a quick preview of it before Chris posts in the gallery later its in there. It's here CLICK (http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/Projects/index.php?cmd=view_image&entry_id=40440)

Hi Washies,
I've been lurking in the Wash for a couple of days--wanted to keep up with what's happening to everyone, but too tired/busy to respond properly...
What is it that's happening to the Washers limbs???? Never though watercolor was such a dangerous occupation... I do hope that Erin's operation goes well and her wrist heals quickly...(((Erin)))
Lyn--I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the boot will be off by the time you get back from the doctor....
((((Pam)))))(*passing a cup of tea with honey and lemon and a box of Kleenex*)Hope the day of rest will chase that cold away... Really enjoyed your photos the last few days. It felt almost as if you were following our itinerary from some 6 or 7 years ago when we had a Scottish vacation and drove there from Amsterdam...
Anita--great about the job!!!! Congratulations!!!! You must really be looking forward to having a regular day-job schedule!!!
Pat--that car was a scary sight... gives me shivers every time I think about it. So lucky your son was not hurt!!! A nun, you say??? (*trying to picture Pat in a black habit and headdress...hmmmmm*)
Glad you had good news about your mom, Bob! And have a safe trip!
Conmgratulations, Mary-Lou!
Ruth--sounds like you need some elastic... I know how you feel as I've been really dragging myself around these last few days and feeling energy-less and sleepy despite the bright blue autumn skies and sunshine..
How did you garden designing go, Jaytee?
Sharon--your being done with week 2 (BRAVO!!!) did get me slightly nervous...
I am trying a portrait this time so I need to start early...and think up some alternatives in case of disaster...lol I did manage to draw it yesterday, but will probably not touch it again until tomorrow eveining: have an art class tonight (a new modek and I suppose we will be doing short poses) and a busy work schedule tomorrow...

Time for me to go chase my darling teen from in front of TV and suggest she gets into a homework mode.... and then, I better go an start dinner...

Weaving to everyone I missed....

Happy Thursday afternoon Drookits! I've had a busy work morning and I'm just now getting both my lunch and my WC fix...

I didn't have to drive the boys anywhere this morning... what a pleasure to just get them on the bus and DH out the door to work... I worked on my painting last night and I'm sooooo close to finishing it I can almost taste it... :D I'm absolutely sick to death of this composition... My confidence is bigger than my capability...

Maybe it's the phase of the moon (with so many WC'ers down and out), or probably what I had for lunch yesterday, but I've got a case of the *gorks* today... It'll work itself out... :D

JT! No offense taken!!! In fact, it made me chuckle... and...

Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater
Had a wife and couldn't keep her
So, he put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well... :D

Loads of white light beaming to Erin... ohhhhh that must have hurt... I hope her surgery goes well...

Lyn-sis!!! Today you get to kick the boot! *I hope*

Sharon... Week 2 already??? Wow... Maybe you and Andy could do 2 per week instead of one... I would LOVE a conservatory... but I'd have to work another year to get one and I would LOVE to retire more than I want a new room... :D

Did Andy get stuck out in his studio forever??? Did the bedding ever dry??? Will Wend ever give him another task to do??? Stay tuned... :D

Hi Elaine... Board Games = Family Squabbles... Except for Scrabble... When the older boys come home, we set up the board and keep a running game... Our Magoo is old enough now that he joins in... It's a lot of fun (mainly because I always win...)

Sylvia... when are the builders coming to install the new roof??? Since we've had a couple of frosts, the leaves are turning to burnished golds and reds here, too...

Cyber elastic on its way to you, Ruth!!! Hope your feeling better today...

 to Jana, JoAnn and Pat...

Bob... glad that your Mom is out of ICU... ((())) all around...

So what are you working on now, Uschi??? :D

Mary Lou and Dave... how neat that you were able to meet! ML, congrats!

Hi to Anita and Christie... ziiiipping off to work, wherever you are...

Kev... I want to view your Challenge along with your poem... tempting offter though...

*Handing a tissue* to Pampe... and here's a cup of green tea with lemon... snuggle down under a quilt with a good book... Hope you feel better quickly...

Really looking forward to your roses, Em... I have discovered that I love painting them too... I know that yours will be simply spectacular... A shopping weekend with your Sis, especially when meeting up with Pam and Hap, sounds like loads of fun...

Hi Olga... neither Magoo (grade 10) or Thibaut (grade 11) are getting much of anything in the way of homework... at least, that's what they're telling me...

Sharon!!!   :D

Bob!! :D

LOL - I agree with you Sharon - it wasnt like we had to hold her down and pour it down her throat did we.....ho hum!! - I know it had an effect on her cos she even clapped when I did my very bad rendition of the American Anthem (you will be pleased to know i have got a copy of the right words and am learning them as we speak errrrr type :D )

Busy day today - got the usual wrath from SWMBO for having a lie in - DS had been up since 8am (such a good boy.....grrrrrrrrrrr!!) He is back driving - picked his own car up today but said it was more difficult driving than the new hire car - so yep you guessed - he went off in the new car and left me with the old one (hummph!! :( )

K teatime

Love and Hugs all around

Wend was not well pleased with lack of bedding, apparently when she said strip the bed , she didn't mean STRIP the bed , she meant strip the bed ,see. I just missunderstood the Strip part of it .. easy mistake for us mere mortals

From what I hear, Banx is a little "under the weather today" so he needs an extra push and a little cheering on.

Pam, I am definitely feeling your pain! I was blaming my cold and sinus infection on the looooooooong airplane ride (our last travel day lasted 26 hours, 4 of them at Heathrow and 12 in the plane). If yours started on your last day, I'm definitely thinking it's the bad air!

I'm finally feeling better, but it took a month that included 24 days of antibiotics! Don't let it go too far before you see a doctor!!!

Poison, indeed!!! I think I can see a faint shadow of the gun they held to your head. LOL :D

Thursday, and no bowling. It's a good thing, I am like Lyn, a real night owl, and stayed up till 2 am, beating DH, by about an hour. We were woken up about 7:30 by our builder, he could be at the house in an hour to begin moving the hot water tank up to the attic, as the other job he's working on got delayed, so up we got, of course he was an hour late due to harrogate traffic, This whole process is going to be a huge mess. Builder is good, but Jack said he could leave tools in the spare room, so he did, all over the quilt on the bed! Oh, and I think he saves water by showering once a week or two.
About using the hair dryer, Cheap Joes says that when using Kilimanjaro, use the hair dryer on the paper BEFORE you put the masking fluid on the paper.
Colds on airplanes, I do get colds after flying, if someone is clearly suffering, ick!
I have a story about language confusion regarding erasers/rubbers in the US. A friend who was living in San Jose, was from Britain, went to a sports store, and asked if they had SF 49 ers rubbers. The young man, blushed and stammered that they didn't carry things like that. She then pointed to the erasers in the display cabinet, "Yes you do, there they are"
Oh, for the one who did not understand JT's joke, think about what Viagra is for.
Gotta, go builder is coming back in the morning.

HI everyone...

Yes, I'm really blown away that they offered me the job so fast. ...I am being sent a packet with lots of paperwork to do for my security clearance.

Anita

I'm surprised they are doing a "security clearance" for your new job, Anita. Are you going to be handling info classified as "Secret" or "Top Secret"? Usually for the kind of work you will be doing, they would only do a background check. For security clearances they send out FBI agents to interview people who knew you, etc. DH had many jobs where he had to have top level security clearances during his time in the Air Force. ;)

No Autumn Colors painting for me. Instructor used a Tony Couch article from this month's issue of Watercolor Magic magazine for reference. I'm not a big Tony Couch fan so decided to work on a painting of my tomatoes from the garden. Actually I'm using two photos and combining them. Right now it looks pretty yucky, but I'll keep plugging away and see if I can save it.

Ruth, Glad you are emerging from the doldrums. I kind of felt like that yesterday so I just lurked, it would have taken too much energy to comment.

Char, We are on the roofer's schedule for next week if all goes well. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks now.

I've been having trouble with my right knee this past month so am taking a week off from my walking routine. This is the ideal time of the year to walk, but every time I come back, my knee hurts and I limp around the rest of the day. We even bought new New Balance walking shoes thinking that might help! Anyway, send some white light in the direction of my knee if you can spare it, I want to get out and walk and take photos again!

Congratulations ML on your Honorable Mention at the art show. Glad you and Dave had a chance to meet up too. Not quite as exciting as Kington, but it is always nice when WCers have the chance to get acquainted.

Bob, Good news about your Mom. Glad you are going to see her this weekend and have time to visit with your girls too. Ignore your BIL's barbs, hard as that is to do, in the long run you will be the winner for sure. The Math Books are getting a little more interesting now that I'm up to Grade 3. They are beginning to introduce algebraic expressions as part of the solutions. I am amazed! Maybe the kids won't be so afraid of algebra if it is part of their Math from such an early age! (I am algebra-phobic, although I loved geometry!)

CRS has arrived, Weaving to all I've forgotten to mention. I did read the whole Wash and enjoyed it.

SYTomorrow, time to get supper underway. Tonight is a Turkish meal with Kofte (meatballs) made with ground beef and the insides of the zucchinies I stuffed the other day plus rice pilaf. Hope it is good, this is the first time I've tried this particular recipe, but my DH and I love Turkish food and I learned to make it when we were stationed there (twice).

Ta Ta,

Sylvia

PS, Hope Lyn has finally managed to get some sleep after her marathon wakefulness.

 to everyone who has posted since I last visited!

I got three hours sleep, after my marathon all night bout of sleeplessness! Then went to doc; boot is still on--but I am to "wean" myself off of it over the next two or three weeks. Bone healing nicely, but doc said if I twist it wrong, it'll probably "snap" again! He said to use boot as needed as I am just on the "cusp" of healing. He also has prescribed physical therapy for my back--after about three weeks. :( So, I reckon no more boot when sleeping, Kev, so I probably won't be thinking of you as often!! :D LOL

Laughs, hugs, higgles, jiggles, etc. as appropriate for posts!

Spritey next time I'm in the art shop I'll ask for a pack of ribbed rubbers.

And the funny thing is they wouldn't even bat an eyelid, the word 'rubber' for pencil mark withdrawal is so steeped in our society that we don't even think of any other meaning.

I love the sniggering it causes across the pond.
