View Full Version : Light through the trees - Repost with additions (and darks)

Well here it is with all of your suggestions added.

I added some distant tree impressions receeding to give more depth.
I added shadows coming forward as suggested.
I darkened the darks quite a bit.
and I tried to address the washed out look the old foreground had.

Better? (I think so)

Thanks to everyone for your excellent suggestions.

You must be very pleased with this. Excellent. Very dramatic, as Rod says.

It certainly is dramatic! In fact, the first thing I saw was a forest fire, raging behind the trees in the foreground! It's a great painting, I love it. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

WOW, you've turned this painting around ok, very dramatic, like it.

Thanks Rod, Lise, Bob and Taghera.

The suggestions people made turned it from a painting that was heading towards being vague and unsatisfactory to something I'm very pleased with.
