Hi metalhead,
Instantly recognisable, a great study of a great work. Well done.

Thanks for the kind words... I had started this one some time ago with the intention of giving it to my mom for her birthday, since I knew she always liked that painting. Anyway, I just gave it to her earlier tonight, and she really seemed to like it, she already had a small print of that painting, and of course, like most prints, the colors just can't compete with the saturation that you get from real artist grade paints. And I suppose she's really the only critic I really care about for this one. So, I'm definitely marking this one in the "success" column. :)

If you're just curious, you can see a progression of WIPs for this one here:

What brand of acrylics did you use for this?

Splendid rendition - extremely well done. Can see why you will not be participating in the Dec thread - more of the same!! strangely my hubbie picked this scene for me to do - however so glad I have chosen something different.

Amazing! beautifully done
What brand of acrylics did you use for this? Liquitex, some BASICS, but mostly the pro grade stuff. I think my aquamarine blue (in the sky) was BASICS, as was the (very little) red that I used.

Superb! You did a great job.

I sometimes use Basics, too. At first worried it wouldn't endure as well as the studio quality Liquitex, but so far so good. Hearing you've used it makes me feel a bit more confident! :p
