View Full Version : Ever wonder why it's so hard to find frit?

It's being eaten by fritfrogs!! Those elusive little creatures are gobbling it up. I managed to capture one today. I caught him red-handed in my jar of raku! He had frit all over him, and apparently it's starting to affect his coloration.

On a more serious note, this is my first attempt to "capture" a froggie bead. :D

He's so funny. Better than my first ones that I had trouble keeping on the bead. Onalee

I believe the fritfrog originated in Georgia, but I've heard rumors that they are spreading fast. Keep your frit jars tightly sealed! You can hear them calling...raaaaaaaaaaaakkkkuuuuuuuuuu, raaaaaaaaaaaakkkkuuuuuuuuuu...

 :D

He's very sweet, (notice that we all assume he's a "he"?? ), but he does have a guilty look on his face.

Awwwwww, he's so cute Sara,
Or is it a she? Hard to tell with frit frogs. I especially like his come hither eyes, calling to me. Adorable frog, he should come live with me, I have a little bit of frit for now. He'll give me a reason to tell my husband why I need more. "Honey, the frog needs plenty of frit to stay happy!"  :wink2:
I guess I'd better get more frit so the frit frogs will visit me. About how much do you have lying around as bait? ;)
Great job,
Barb

Way too much frit, and, of course, not enough!

Goldie is a she, and an Irish fritfrog...you can tell by her green eyes and beautiful red dots. :wink2:

I caught her and made her pose for a couple of pictures... :D

Well Sara,
Goldie is an adorable little frog. Her eyes really give her personality. Before I try to lure some frit frogs to my house I need to know. Do they eat much frit? I just want to be prepared. ;)

Not too much...after all, they are small fritfrogs. :)

Sara - Adorable!!!! Devious, but great! Are they going to be on tour, also, since you really shouldn't trust them alone at home with the frit...

Very nice, and the first one (blue bead frog) is even on a hollow round? Whew, over my head for sure! The second little guy looks like a "lord of the rings" froggie, my precious... I like both of them, well done!
