I was wondering how many people used a retarder with their acrylics? My one niggle with the medium is I cant blend the colours on the canvas.
If so are all retarders much the same?

I usually mix a bit of retarder (no more than 15% by volume) in my initial piles of paint. There is no difference between liquid, fluid, and gel retarders, depends on what consistency you want to maintain.
Alternatively, you can use a slow drying medium (i.e., Golden's Glazing or Liquitex Blending), which has retarder already in it. Do not use additional retarder with these mediums, as it will make your paint gummy and cause lifting problems in subsequent layers.

I heard you could use antifreeze, any one know about this?
