12x24 oil

This was done in response to a local fellow who says this is his calling. He walks about 10 miles per day - each day a different town in our county. I painted him right before we moved. There are folks like this all over Texas. I grew up in NH - and this was new and strange to me. It was a joy getting to know him as well.

Wow! You can ignore the question I asked in the other thread about my NH pictures ~ now I can see for myself what you do :) Texas is sure a lot different from New England, isn't it?

You got that right! Of course, I took him out to the most desolate part of town to do this. I was trying to show him working alone - in truth he is always in town. My other idea was to show crops or flowers growing behind him...as in where he has already spread "the word"...then keep it desolate in front of him. Never got to that one though.

Thank you :)

Oh, that would be wonderful ~ sowing the seed and watching the crop grow! That picture would be more of an object lesson, even to people who don't know the story of your local man :)

i agree, that would be an amazing idea! However, this painting itself is just beautiful. It is always nice to meet people with a true calling. He must have been quite a fella!
