This is a pastel done on a full sheet of Canson mi Tientes grey pastel paper
I tend to use Unison soft pastels more than most as i find them perfect for me.
The scene is of the village of Urchfont whre i tutor residential art courses. The scaffolding on the left , I thought, was different and attracted me. They were rethatching the roof. The building on the right is the local pub which i have visited many times, purely for medicinal purposes! - Ha

I can see why the scaffolding would appeal to you...although I would have been afraid to try it!

Oh! I loved watching them thatch some houses when I visited England the last time! Truly the work of artisans! I love this painting...reminds me of so many lovely English villages!

Enchanting...it makes me want to come back to the UK, just to visit the pubs and wander amongst the villages :)
