View Full Version : In honour of my friend - his painting
At the end of March I shared the story in cafe of helping a dear and special friend to set up his final exhibition of 40 paintings, mostly watercolours. It was open for a week but was a sell-out in 3 days.
Several asked if I could show some of his work. Well this is one of the ones that my husband and I bought - an old butcher's shop. My scan of the photo of it is not perfect but it will give you some idea of his work.
Sadly my friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few weeks ago and has not long to live now.
Thanks for looking.

this is a wonderful painting, really beautiful.
I am very sad about your friend's health... I am not religious or I would pray. Let's say I'll pray for your friend in a atheic sort of way.
But I am sure that he will be remembered by his paintings. They convey light and love for the world around as far as i can tell by this painting...
thankyou Anne-Claire for your very kind thoughts.

Your friend does beautiful work. Your painting will always be a little memory of him every time you look at it. I hope that he is not suffering too much and tell him he is thought of in here.
Why do I make it so hard?

What a lovely way to remember your friend. With a beautiful painting he did. I just love the colors. I will pray that your friend passes from this life to the next with ease and grace.

Thankyou Pam, he is in excruciating pain at times. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers for him.

Your friend is so fortunate to have you.
I have lost several friends at a nursing home I visit. It has been an honor to be included in their lives. The stories they have shared with me will stay with me forever. They do live on just not the way we we would have chosen. My life has been enriched by theirs and I feel blessed that I was given a chance to get to know them.
I am so sorry.

A lovely painting, one that you will always treasure. Sorry to hear of the artists poor health, I'm glad that he has your support and friendship,
Thankyou all so much for your support.
Unfortunately I had to pull the cafe thread referring to it, too much unpleasantness in it yesterday, which I and wetcanvas can well do without.
My friend is a wonderful man and it's nice to share with you one of his works.
