Just wanted to show you all my most recently finished set which, believe it or not, was inspired by a set of china. About a year ago I had a customer tell me that he wanted to give his wife some jewelry that matched her favorite china pattern, so he gave me a coffee cup and off I went to the torch. I came up with a set that looked very similar to this, strung it into a necklace, bracelet and earrings, and he said she loved it. (Phew!) Well, I always missed those beads, so I decided to recreate them. I made this set for Ebay, and I made another set for myself. Just goes to show that sometimes you don't need to look any further for inspiration than your morning cup of coffee! :wink2:

I am always amazed and impressed with your attention to detail, and your ability to maintain intricate designs on your beads. This set reminds me of some of the Mexican pottery that I've seen when we've been on cruises and stopped in Cancun and Cozumel. Just gorgeous!

Thank you all so much! You know, when I was first asked if I could make beads that matched this lady's china pattern (and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called), I wanted to back out of the deal, but I'm glad I didn't, because I surprised myself with how these came out. It is so easy to say no to a challenge that takes me outside my comfort zone, and I'm not talking about just in bead making, but I'm working on trying to be more open. 47 year old habits don't die easy. I appreciate all the kind comments, you all inspire me daily with your work. Thanks again!

Jan - - as always, your work is beautiful and unique :) I think the best ideas come from non bead-related inspiration and these really prove it!! Great job

Thank you guys, I sooooo appreciate it! You know the funny thing is that I hate fruit...don't eat any of it...can't stand the smell of it or to watch someone else eating it! But they are kinda pretty in glass!
