My first "serious" attempt with pen & ink. A portrait of two of my nieces done from a photo reference. Comments/critiques appreciated.

Good work digistyle, portraits are difficult.

The background seems rather light compared to the heavy treatment of the girls ... perhaps some crosshatches there would unify the drawing a bit.

You are certainly braver than I :) When it comes to portraits it's like oil and water...we just don't mix :D For a first attempt you have done pretty good. Your shading in the faces is great!! I would suggest maybe some brighter highlights in the eyes and maybe more in the hair to show the style or texture of it. Looking forward to seeing more of your ink work :cool:

I'm finding inks to be a challenging medium. I have to plan more than I usually do. I think I'll try the crosshatching suggestion.
