View Full Version : Artichoke in Acrylic

I haven't done alot of acrylics for a long time. used to work on paper but I thought I would experiment on some little home made canvas panels. I was trying to zoom in on the surface but accentuate the texture. After a while I'm thinking Ive painted a pineapple shaped like an artichoke. 8 x 9 inches anyway, had fun, C&C appreciated. Carrie

I see an eye staring right at me! Is that intentional? or am I paranoid? :p

Absolutely gorgeous painting! Love the colors, and the loose handling. You've indicated the leaves very well without being too literal.

Sorry to be late getting back here. I really do appreciate comments and your opinions on this little piece. I think I figured out where the eye is you are talking about Pastel Mama. That is a leaf down there and the shadow of the board creates the out line of an eye. I guess I'll have to fix that leaf or get rid of it. I do think it adds interest so Maybe I'll just have to make it more leafy looking. I'll fix it later today and repost. Thanks everyone.!!

Oh, don't fix the eye, that is part of the charm of this piece that to my eye is very abstract and that is a good thing:)

I love this! My favourite veggie too. Nice loose strokes, close crop and exciting colours.
