Nice job on this one! I love how you've placed your colors and the style is breathtaking. Maybe a cast shadow on the dirt would make this even better (if it's possible to get any better then this :D ). Try adding some subtle, darker tones of the dirt. Whatever you do, don't touch that car! You don't want to take a chance to ruin the look you have achieved. Well done!

Like the rally works you've posted in the past, this is wonderful as usual... this seems have more of a "standing still" or caught with a "fast shutter" feel to it than any I've looked at before that depicted fast movement and action... maybe like you said... he finished, but that was about it. That fact seemed to come through in this one. Thanks for sharing.

I always enjoy a loose style in painting. It gives action pieces more punch, and you have doen a great job on this one. My dh is a race car fan, and his brother raced funny cars until and accident took his life.

sorry i'm a bit late replying

my little boy Toby won a drawing competition!
design your own racing car.
the winning drawing has been built up to
a real size racing car,
during the recent Goodwood revival races,
Toby was driven round the trac by Stirling Moss......
a dream day for a 9 year old!!

Dave,
i like your suggestion of the shadows,
i think i will give that a go.....next time :D
thanks for takin the time :)

Gini
thanks for the great compliment

Marc you are right!
it is a close up and a slow car
guess i'm a bit rusty.....
thanks for the push!

sassybird,
thanks!i enjoy painting loose
i'm sorry to hear about your dh brother!
this is the flip side of motor racing,
it is beautiful and ugly at the same time

Hi Rob,
Your style is so incredibly individual and striking! It is the kind of signature work where when one walks into a gallery one could look quickly around and instantly identify your works. An enviable position to be in I think.
It is always enjoyable to view your work, the sense of speed you impart is unique and astonishing.

hey James,
what are you doing here!?
not many jokes over here......
no wonder you don't get any painting done :D
i'm just off to look at your new plein air ;)
thanks for the compliments :)

Stirling Moss is amazing,
he wasn't going to drive over the weekend,
he just had an operation and was in a wheelchair,
but he wouldn't let a little boy down,
painfully,he was lifted into the car,
and gave Toby the day of his life......
