View Full Version : Weds. 9-1 Evening S&T

Well, I know it's evening back east, anyway. My PC is finally on genuine speaking terms with me again (I got virused thanks to a "helpful" mail program my SO installed), so I can take pix and even list auctions again. Whew, what a relief!

Just wanted to show off some cool-o beadies....call 'em different faces of Raku Jitterbug frit.

Beautiful beads Karen!

Here is a vessel I cooked up last night. Tink's influence can be seen in this one. It's rootbeer with Raku stringer.

OMG Karen, love your raku beads - particularly the one on the top right! Just beautiful.
Saucy, beautiful vessel and yes, you can see the influence.

No beads for me today - and probably for not a while since I'm going to have to evacuate because of Frances.

Take care all.

Oh, beautiful! I especially like the bead with the frit left raised on the ends.
Saucy, love the vessel!
I was trying to make fall beads, but I was sure surprised to pull camoflage beads out of my kiln! Military son thinks them cool. Lauscha olive and Val's ocelot spots.
Also from Val, mercury luster stringer on black, think I've gotten it to behave now and do mostly what I want.

Deborah! I love that bead! Gorgeous! My guess is Raku frit??? LOL

Nicole, I saw those beads in person and so I know they are beauties!

Wow, I love the yummies this evening :) Every time I see something with the raku frit I think to myself "I LOVE that!!" . .. I need to get me some!
The rodeo pic is great too . . . cool chick in her pink top on a horse, SWEET!

Here's some more of my latest obsession - hollows made with filigrana. I made another set almost identical to these beads and used them for a bracelet and necklace. I can't stop!!!!!

Ha you guys are too funny! I suck at barrels. But it is fun to do once and a while. I love that pic since it shows how hard it really is to ride my mare! No one ever believes me!

Love the beads everybody - especially the raku stringer - I'd love to get my hands on some of that stuff!! But alas, I am but a poor college student and have no funds to spare *sigh* - one day....one day...anywho. I've got a few beads to share with y'all tonight - I did these three two days ago and I've already got a buyer for the smaller of the two lentils. YAY!! I'm so excited about it - my first cross-border sale!! Yeah, I'm lame, but hey - it's a new thing for me, so I take what excitement I can get....*shakes head* yeah, I'm weird...lol....

The two lentil beads (shaped with a fabulously cheap ice grabber from Linens 'n' Things) are made by taking a core bead, stringing on colors along the length of the bead, then dragging through them with a dental tool. Then I added dots of clear, melted them in, and cased them in more clear. The one in the middle is a hollow bead - light pink for the bulk of it, then darker pink clear and pastel pink around the very bottom. Thestingers up the sides are of the same pastel pink and 408 yellow (my FAVORITE color to work with - you'll be seeing lots of this color in my work).

Talk to y'all later - keep up the FAB work!!!!!
