Still trying to get loose with the paint. This one's just for fun. Mary <IMG SRC="http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/23-May-2001/Uprooted.JPG" border=0>

Looks like you're getting loose with the paint! Lots of movement and color. I like it.

Thank you for your comments but do you think I should take out some of the yellow? I think I went a little mad with it but them that is the character of the piece. I'm not sure. Mary

No, I wouldn't touch the yellow, it draws the eye up into the painting, its great,

How INTENSE !! Very dynamic sections to your painting. We especially love the strong and firey red section at the top. The eye is guided around by the large brush strokes and changes in color that you have used. The yellow part doesn't seem as sensitive and subtle as the red and brown sections. Perhaps the yellow part needs more work? keep up these explorations in subject matter! We love how your work is becoming more conceptual. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/evilgrin.gif

Mary, this is a very expressive painting your color relations are quite sound. I really enjoy the simplicity of the foreground when juxtaposed with a energetic somewhat complex background. I noticed that you said you were going to redo this in alarger size, GOOD IDEA, I think this would make quite a statemnet in a larger fomat, Ryan Shaver
