WOW, I really like this piece. It has a mysterious feel to it, as if the thorns are emerging from the dark.
Well done and keep posting

Bio, Thanks I don't have much confidence in pen and ink. I love it and am always buying books about how-to-do and I look at the samples, and go, "No way". Toss it aside. This is a rare drawing for me.

I wish I could do art like this in ink, wonderful job!
Looks almost like a woodcut--it has a great look and feel to it. If you are ever interested in experimenting--instead of hand drawing the background--try painting the darks in--same picture, differnet look--and you should pursue the inks--you are a natural.

This must have taken a very long time to do! How long exactly did it take? Your control with this medium is awesome! Great subject matter, reminds me of Braveheart lol. Anyways, awesome work!

Overcrow, when you do a WDE you are supposed to time it at 2 hours, this took 1 1/2. Its only a small, 4x7 on illustration board. I used an Pitt Artists Pen, size small nib, black ink. You can buy the Pitt pen in saugine, and sepia also.
Jayde, you should see some of the ink drawings that end up in the wastebasket. I've tried solid ink backgrounds and hate the look, looks dead, solid black. I've used some colored inks and like the look better. Thanks for the comments.
