I haven't posted a painting in a while...I 've been painting a lot so I have lots of slides to do!!...Anyway I decided to share this painting even though the deep red & green of the tug may not show too well here...
The tug is heading home to Baltimore being persued by a nasty cold front...
Wallis paper 12x18...Sennelier & Rembrandt pastels.
Thanks for looking!!

this is great Annette, definately get the sense of atmosphere you describe... yes the red and green is hard to see here, but I bet it looks even better than it does now in real .... and giving just that added need of warmth .... love the little glow of lights....

good one, like it alot, well done

Really like the reflections off of the water, That boat has a great feel of weight plowing thru the water. A Strong painting with atmosphere.

Thanks for sharing this us! This really looks quite good - the sky is ominous and the water is choppy - good indication that bad weather is on the way!

This is wonderful! Can almost feel the salt spray and choppy ride! Nice limited palette and I CAN just almost see the red and green!

Annette, it is amazing how something so foreboding can also be beautiful...you captured both qualities equally well..incredible job!

Annette - this is fantastic. I've been in the sea during that brooding type of sky and just hoping you can beat home the showers and wind.

Lovely job with the sea and composition. Well done.

Nasty cold front is right...I think this is one that is great to look at but I wouldn't want to be there. Excellent job. I like how you added the warm yellows...but it still has a chilly feel. Wonderful lights and darks.
