Beautiful and delicate... I love it because it looks simple, and it isn't!

Maybe in the long run we could set up a round robin swap where we exchange ATCs with someone's initial... just thinking aloud.

Out of 10 new cards, 3 barely made the cut, 3 are unfinished, and 4 showed me there may be a market for a desk top 2.5 inch paper shredder.

I am amazed at all the beautiful cards everyone has done. Every time I go look in the gallery, different cards grab me and I think "wow, that is my favorite!", then I look at the next on, and repeat it over and over. I just want to say to everyone,"Well done!" and keep them coming. Thank you all.

Your card is gorgeous. I use encaustic sometimes also but in a very rudementary way over mixed media. I tried three cards last night but 'm not sure yet if I'll post those or another technique. I had not thought of working with the stylus the way you use it. Thank you for sharing!!!

I hate to be a bung hole, Shery, but another one of the ATC rules that I know of anyhow you ought to take a look on the web for more info though, The other rule other than size is that they cannot be sold. However, There has been many who had thier cards published in books, and the author split all the proceeds with all of the artists who's cards appeared in the book. I think one of my links takes you to that site. And their has been international exibitions too. But ATC's still just get traded along. I hope this isn't a downer. But I could have misunderstood anyhow, because I have big work that I printed because they would make good cards. Im thinking thats maybe what you meant. But you do the cards the way you want to. But I just wanted to throw you a bone even if it was a reluctant one :) I do encourage you to look at the web for more info though.

Mar, go ahead and post that one your talking about. We will all look at it and tell you what we think. Somtimes what may not look good to you will look good to others. :)

oooooh, Debbie, that is my fav. ATC place. I love them better than the yahoo groups because of how the photo albums are set up. I would have gone there but Sniff~ My people have always been here :) Im not ruling them out tho, I have been droooooling over the cards over there like a vulture LMAO.

Weckster! Hows my house holding up  Im afraid your gonna have to ask somone more experienced in glue :( Im still feeling my way around glue.

Debbie, im drooooling over that cake you made. You get a gold metal if you give me that cake  LMAO How about that knarly picture that Stoy gave us to draw  I think I wet my pants LMAO. LOL so I don't need to goto the toilet because of Stoy! HAHAHHAHAHHAHA

Oh sassy, canvas paper is the chizzz nit. Especily that federix Or is that fredericks???? I dunno can't remember but they have a line that is genuine canvas. It looks like a regular drawing pad. One side is primed the other is not. Good stuff too.

Ok yall I have more info post comming up. Whew, sorry I havn't put up too many cards lol been juggling way too much this week. But there will be more to come!

Sorry if I missed anybodies cards but I've run out of puter time. But i'lll be back! A few things I wanted to throw at yall before I went though.

TRADING
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel that if yall want to start trading you can do so at anytime. This is not to rush anyfolks that havn't started yet, because of the style of trading im intending on this will give folks a chance to take thier time. Especily since Im putting emphasis on the creativity side/getting your juices flowing angle, I don't want to push or rush anyone. Im just estatic to have all of you. And to get you addicted

If any of you want to start trading, just head on over to the finished works gallery, comment on anyone that catches your eye that you've missed (Peeps need and would like feedback, it also keeps folks who havn't from feeling left out, and im not havning any of that  ) and Pm the person for a trade proposal of whom you wish to trade with. You could ask them if they have a preference vice or versa, or do it like some other ATC hubs do it. The artist has an album giving examples of thier work and you both agree to trade however many and your as suprised as they are when the cards are recieved. That is the second way of trading. Please keep track of the names of peeps you traded with.

2nd generation and up
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
For those of you new to ATC's Id thought Id let you in on this one. Its called 2nd generation trading. If you traded the second way where you never know what you get type trade. or if you have a series of 10 and have your eye on someones' series of 12 you could do a 2nd generation trade. This is an ATC card practice to keep people trading. And people are generally not offended because it lands thier work into anothers hands. Kind of like money in circulation. When you trade someone eles card it is called a seconed or third and so on generation card. The thing to remember, Always tell someone when they are getting a second gen, and always keep track of the people you trade with for many reasons:

Reason number one: You don't want to trade a second gen card back to the person who created it. It would be like "gee thanks I gave you a card for my own card" LOL

Reason number two: Because some folks trade so much they forget who they owe a card or not. This one is really bad.

Contact information
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yall can put whatever contact info you would like on the back of your cards. This is a matter of personal preference. But I would like to make one suggestion, but its just a suggestion:

I don't think its a good idea to put you street address on the back of your cards. The reason is there has been peeps who fall in love with a persons work and start sending thier cards to you  In hopes to get cards back. If you trade allot this will throw you out of wack (HOLY CRAP! did I owe this person cards and forgot????????) Although the people I've heard this story from were flattered, but were confused and caught off gaurd by it. because they didn't have any cards made to give and were not interested in giving a second gen trade. Also a good reason to keep track. LOL. I think this practice stopped though because allot of folks consider it rude to pelt somone with cards periodicly without a trade agreement lol.

ONE MORE THING lol

Some people are sensitive, Im not LOL  If you have a nude, or somthing that might offend, be kind let that person know. there is no rules and absoulutly no censor ship when it comes to card making (one of the other many things that I love about ATC. But it is kind to let somone know what they are getting if it is of the nature. Kind of like sending them a butt icon heads up. :D

Same goes for our little atc project. Anything goes! Just give it a butt icon just like other WC posts :D

Thats all I can think of at the moment  Start pm'in if yall want

Very expressive. The sepia and b/w work quite well here together, and the red gives it an edge. Soft curves and gentle imagery in the foreground, details in the background. Well done!

Good use of texture... the radiating lines emphasise the horizontal, and the greens to the center and bottom are very suggestive of leaves. Tropical and organic. Well done.

Nice concept there, of the collage knife/fork digging into the pizza. The smaller scale of the stamp lends it a humorous spin. The background provides good contrast for both stamp and utensils. :)

I must ask...what does akinoroko mean?

This is a beautiful series - I particularly like this one and the black one. What got you into origami? (your name "lee" ain't particurary Japanese...). (My married name is Lee :) )

hlee
09-01-2004, 10:19 AM
Thanks, Erica. :) I don't know if Akinoriko actually means anything in any language, but at least nori means "seaweed", the roasted and seasoned kind that makes a great snack! :D

Well, I was taught how to make a crane around 6 years old... it's one of those things to entertain children at boring reunion dinners out. Most in the series aren't origami really -- at least not if it implies starting with a square piece of paper and folding it into something symmetrical. It's a process between folding and collage, finding calmness, letting design take precedence, plus a chemical X. ;)

LOL I want one of those toilet cards too. I was to shy to trade for it yet because I don't have very many cards in. However since I don't have very many yet and I want yall to trade fist and formost, let weckster have. I know the origanal is gone now lol but I don't care! I would take a black and white print out on toilet paper that drawing LMAO. Since they are going like hot cakes, let weckster have the last edition if there is only one left. LOL

Also I love so many of your cards it wouldn't break my heart for those even if all the pottys were gone.

UPDATE NEW INFORMATION

I figured out how yall can edit your card description and put TRADED onto your cards.

I happend upon it by accident.

1. Go to the main projects page.

2. On the left hand side of your screen there will be a box that says project tools.

3. After you click on that it will give you the option to edit your progress or final images. And TA DA! you can now put traded, on traded cards :D

Now let me submit this real quick before it crashes again. lol

I love this one too. Ahhhhh, house work. Did you know that I hate laundry more than any other thing. It seems easy enough, but laundry gives the ilusion of being easy when there are sooooo many more steps to it than meets the eye. Wow, that's interesting! I wish I could have a look around that museum. I'm not travelling over there by now, but I'll try and include it if I ever do. And as for writer's block... I don't know, it's weird how difficult it is to run out of subjects to paint or draw (Godzoned's "Toilet" is a case in point), but with writing one does tend to stumble with big massive blocks that come unannounced. :crying: Maybe it has something to do with non linear vs linear thinking. All I can say about this is that I feel my writing is somehow richer since I started painting, and that one activity seems to balance the stresses of the other. Don't know, maybe I should open a new thread at the Debate forum...

Morgie,

Envelopes you do not have to put anything on them. For packages you put
"Unsolicited Gift" and fill out a customs form. They will give you custom forms to take home also. That way you can have them all filled out and realy to go when you mail a package. Countries are broken down into sections of the world. Canada and Mexico cost 60 cents to mail an envelope. Some countries cost 80 cents to mail an envelope to. It is best to take your envelopes to the post office so that they can put the proper postage on them. Never put gift on an envelope, and you do not have to fill out a customs form for envelopes either.

Hi welcome to the project.
Try posting your cards this way...

at the top of your screen on this site there is a menu click on "content areas"
choose "Art Projects system"
When the page loads in look at the projects listed and "Artist Trading cards (ATC)" should be the third one along.
Click on the title
When the page loads in scroll down the bottom of the description (don't forget to read it. Very interesting.)
Join the project
then "upload final images" - this way you will be in the project gallery.

I made four cards today. Here they are:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/Projects/index.php?cmd=browse_final_entries&proj_id=728

I am sending these first four to a mail mania art competition in British Columbia. They won't be returning them, I don't think. But I have them on my computer so I can run off copies. These will be 1-4 in a series called "Insects". I'm going to do more butterflies and some bees and dragonfiles, I think. And maybe a praying mantis.

This was fun !

Oh my goodness!
I joined last week and asked Morganna a few questions back and forth and then started reading this thread to catch up. I got to page 10 after a few hours and a sore neck and had to give up and go to bed....so a few days later I come back and it's up to 23 pages! I finally caught up on my reading but now I'm feeling really left behind!
I haven't started any cards yet, thinking I needed to know what was going on before I started.....But I'm going on vacation tomorrow for a week, and the plan is to work on them there. I'll be out in the country miles and miles from anything so I'll have lots of time and quiet to work...that's the plan.

Weckster, what medium did you use to paint the little landscapes? They are very beautiful.

I love pastels, but I don't think I'll be able to use them on the ATCs because they are so unstable unless you spray them, which just ruins the colors! I'm taking my colored pencils with me, I don't use them much, but I think these little projects will be perfect for them.
I don't know if I'll be able to get online or not in Cloverdale...they have internet access, but it's very very slow. But I will try to check in occassionally or by the time I get back you guys will have posted another 20 pages worth!
You guys are such an inspiration!

Hey guys! If yall comming in late don't feel like rumaging through the tread. LOL its gotten sooo big. Just skim through the Thread for the tips, and don't forget to sighn up at the projects page located under content area, then click on Art projects system. Since its a new project it should still be on front page. From thier you can look at every one's card at once and comment on them individualy. I sqeezed the sign ups up to 10 more. Because I figured it was do able. Im gradulally squeezing it here and there for us to be able to handle it. Don't forget to read the splash page of the project and follow the links if your new to ATC.

Potitos73, I'll have to post up a link to the museums web site somtimes soon. I thought you'd find that interesting. I've heard that allot of folks play music to help thier painting, or paint to help thier music block, or write to balance the other and vice versa. I think the prob is that writing is the only interest for him. Maybe I should give him a heads up on this It may help. I think that is an awsome thread Idea, Also a good one for the creativity fourm too. I've thought about posting for advice before but lost my nerve. Its easy to give adivice on blocks you are familar with and difficult to help blocks of a creative nature that you cannot understand. Yeh, I used to write but I've never taken it as serious as a heart attack like he does. I want to help him bad :crying:

Sassy you are a life saver! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Dag gone I don't know how to thank you. LOL I was worried all night about this! Because I know its gonna take awhile I want those cards out soon, but didn't want to do somthing stupid. Thinking I could get over it and just do it, but then I thought, what if the card gets lost  Whew that makes me feel better. Unless im sending lots of cards or sending to somone nationaly it seems like envelopes are the way.

One more for you. Does it have to be a small envelope? At which point does an envelope become a package? sorry, I can't help my worry wart self.

Debbie, But its worth it to live in such a beautyfull country :D Even though it would take 3 light years to see you. :) Just think, if we could sit on our ATC cards we could go on vacation for no more than a dollar. :D

Mary, your not disorganizing anything. get your but over there and jump on the band wagon girl. LOL cus your not going anywhere

Ohhhh I love praying mantis   Sounds wonderful sheryl

Terry, LOL It is a dooooozy to keep up with. :) I don't have much probs if anything because I got to keep up with the weekly drawing challange anyway. They have me by the nards (or Al's lol) over there :D Debbie and Mary too LMAO. I hope you have fun on vacation!

On the pastel note, I've just recently got a box. Im still not sure if its a medium Im going to get into, but I had to try them. I also have been thinking about ATC and them. Your right, it will be a hard medium to crack on an ATC. I thought Oils were out at one point because of support reasons, but I figured it out. Even though you can find ATC's everywhere on the net; I still have yet to find many places that have very many how to make your baby supports. Its like its a well kept secret! That irritates the slap out of me. So allot I've had to figure out for myself. Some are inefficient ideas, but so far have been effective. Basicly I refuse to give up on a pastel ATC. With a little imagination, and allot of ruined cards I'll figure it out. And I'll figure it out with being archival. LOL IM a nut.

See yall! Im off to look at yalls cards and do some more posting.

Just a tiny update--

I've mailed the first round of card trades so they should surface in a week or two. Many thanks to everyone willing to trade with me! :o Looking forward to those lovely cards in the mail! :p

Also, term is about to start, so unfortunately card-making will halt for a bit until I can sneak in some spare time again. Some of the cards in the first series are still available (the ones unmarked in their descriptions), so if anyone's changed their mind, please feel free to email me via WC!'s email function.

Congrats to everyone for the fabulous works... keep them coming! Woohoo! :D

Also, If You Have Already Traded The Original Card As An Original, Can You Then Make Limited Editions Of The Original Card?

OK, let's assume you're just reading this thread...
One way to switch to the Project system is to chose "Art Project System" in the Content area list:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step1.jpg

Then you can click on "My projects in the "Project tools" box on the left:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step2.jpg

Then you can click on "Browse/Edit" for the Final entries of the ATC project (it appears on purple in the screenshot below):
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step3_v2.jpg

Then you click "Edit this entry":
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step4.jpg

Here you go! (don't forget to hit "Save changes" at the end of the process).

Hi,

Just a couple of things. I'm just back from posting the cards for Godzoned, unecertainid and Mlelevier, so they're on the way, now!

A friend of mine asked me to have his own ATC card. When I asked him for a recent photo, he gave one...taken in 1982! I decided to turn the joke back on him so that's the digital collage I made for him

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/35656-enricsorpresa.jpg

I'm not uploading this to the finsihed ATCs file because it's not available to trade. However, I thought it might be fun to post it here.

HEY YALL

Im trying to catch up and add more cards so I can call on yall for a trade lmao. Don't forget to mark your card traded when it does guys, because thats how im gonna know if anybody has traded with yall yet. Because I'll be calling on ya if you havn't  I don't want anybody left out, but keep things free form at the same time.

I did make a card today but im not sure its dry enough to scan. Another one of my groooovy experiments too. Al had to work today and could not take me to the supply store, so I didn't get to do my other three experiments yet. :) SO im gonna work on my Weekly drawing challenge drawing and catch up with you guys.

LOL somtimes I feel like talking to an answering machine in here LMAO Every time im hollaring at you guys Im the only one online at the moment :D You all must be out cat'n around on a saturday night or somthing. LOL.

ON my cards; the one's I have left are those whats in my sketch book cards. IM not so sure they are too stupid or not. They are prints of 9x12 work mostly, that are in my sketch book. I thought it seemed like a decent idea at the time, but I have my doubts. ANy how I will scan them in and post them in the fourm. You guys give me a vote on wether or not its a stupid atc idea or not. Be honest and don't pay attention to the drawing, because its not the origanal drawings. lol I'll bet there is no damn way I could draw them on an ATC but I havn't tried yet. HEHEHH but I take a long time as it is. Also my purple color pencil shoe is getting on my nerves, I've just noticed the damn thing lifted on me  I didn't like it much to begin with so i may not continue with that one.

Tootles guys

Hey amanda

To answer your first question a limited edittion is the same card, a series are all different cards of the same theme. Edittions dont have to be slightly different.

If you've already traded an origanal and wish to make them editions, ask the person if they would mind, if they don't then ask them to number the card for you to one, if your making the others slightly different, then don't bother and number those. I think thats right yall correct me if im wrong. Now if they were prints then the original is the original and no two ways about it :D Then just nuber you edition prints acordingly. :D

I hope this helps

You said in earlier message that you upgraded to the number of people by an extra ten, but I'm not sure how many people are participating and what the limit is? Hmm... HEY EVERYONE>... Just to let you know. I had friends over last night and I showed them the site, and this project....they sat around in awe of sassy's encaustics, laughing at AJR's horses....wowing at hlee's origami......killing themselves over the toilet series! Everyone's work (anney's postcards....dbluez' stunning pics...Morgie's mosaics)...etc. etc....

I felt rather proud... :D
Very pleased that people enjoy the horse cards, I like to bring a smile to people's faces! I am working on the girls next adventure (or should I say mischief, hint at card theme). Should have it posted soon and as long it brings a smile to people faces I think it is worth while continuing the "theme". :D

If anyone out there has not traded cards yet and likes any of my cards, let me know and we can trade.
Some cards are not marked as traded and yet they look too good not to have been traded!! (and I want them!!!)
I will be posting some more cards over the next few days if nothing catches your eye.
Don't be scared I will trade with everyone (except for the cards already gone of course!) because everyone has such different styles and techniques which I love.

Hi to everyone. Wow, this is a loooong thread. I spent about three hours just scrolling through it (I am very dedicated :D). Just wondering Morgana, I know I'm quite late but can I still sign up for this project? It seems really funky and I'd love to try something like this. You said in earlier message that you upgraded to the number of people by an extra ten, but I'm not sure how many people are participating and what the limit is? Hmm... I think I'll just try and sign myself up first. If it doesn't work, I'll just wait till you increase the number of participants. Oh please oh please!!! :wink2:

Welcome! Every one is welcome to join up; makes it more interesting; The cards get more diverse. :) the only reason I crunched the number is so that it grows at a slower rate than it was lol. I had to keep up. I did sqeeze it higher because some folks that jumped on havn't even said anything yet. So I figured we could handle more until they get unshy :D thanks for jumping on,

Okay, I wanna play, too.....but there are 28 pages here!!!!!!
So I finally gave up reading then all...(do you blame me?) I need to know the bottom line so I have a few questions :D

1. Exactly what should the back of the card look like?
2. Can we use any paper we want to as long it is heavy?
3. If we did a series, say of 5 flowers, and put quite a bit of work in it wouldn't it be better to do a limited edition? How many sets would one make?(I printed up one of mine that I did and it looks as good as the original)
4. Are there any limited editions here?
5. Has there been any discussion about cards done from photographs and manipulated with graphic programs?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, it sounds like soooooooooo much fun, I can't wait to get in on the fun!

Hi Kathy.

Reading the 40 or so page doesn't make much sense, but you sould visit this link: http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html

1. Exactly what should the back of the card look like?ATC the artist writes part or all of the following information: name, contact information, title of the ATC and number (1/8, 2/8...) if it's part of an edition.

2. Can we use any paper we want to as long it is heavy?YES!

3. If we did a series, say of 5 flowers, and put quite a bit of work in it wouldn't it be better to do a limited edition? How many sets would one make?(I printed up one of mine that I did and it looks as good as the original)4. Are there any limited editions here?As far as I know, no limited edition yet (but I'm not the big boss, :wink2: morgie). I didn't consider it myself, because my printer is not good enough.

5. Has there been any discussion about cards done from photographs and manipulated with graphic programs?I don't think so.

Hey Kathy and welcome

I'll do must best to answer all of your questions. Soon I will start periodicly bringing some important posts to the fore front. As far as individual cards go, You can comment on every single one without reading all of this thread from the gallery.

The Back of the card. It should have your name, contact info such as email address, title of the card, If its a edittion and if so which number is the card, and if it is a series what number is it, and Medium, if possible. And anything eles you find is very important to mark on the back of the card. As far as looking like, thats up to you. Other than the info the back of the card is really not all that important.

Any surface you make the card on must be heavy enough. About as heavy as a poker card, or comercial trading card. The list of what is usable is pretty large. One of the most commonly used is heavy cardstock. :) I will try to re post conversation on the topic, also look through the links I provided on the project splash page, You may get an idea.

As far as editions go :) I pretty much assume people would make them limited, about the same as large limited editions. How many sets would one make. Im not sure. IM not sure what they would be called even. If I make an editon card I pretty much don't make any other sets of those editions from there on after. Thats me I just don't know that much about editons to be sure on that one.

are there limited editons here? Im pretty sure there are, and maybe some in the works. But I think the answer is yes.

As for question five, im not sure I remember if there have, but yes, any medium; style goes that can concivebly go on the card. Photo's and digital art too. :) Any medium goes and if you can't figure out how to get it on the card a little imagination goes a long way. :)

I hope I've answered your questions. :) If you got anymore fire away! I'll be happy to fill you in on what I can.

Thanks for joining  Im looking forward to seeing your cards.

I know some of us a "visual" people so here's my version of the back of one of my cards.

"Title"
Who's it by
Date
Email address
Medium/s used
Limited Edition/Series name and number of how many cards done
Country made in
Artist Trading Card (The number is how many cards I made up to that point)

Hope this helps
I also do a profile card. I send it out with all my cards.
Pict of myself on the front. A bit about myself on the back.

Trading is simple -- if you see a card that you like and it's not marked "traded" anywhere in the title or description, just PM the artist of that card asking to trade for it, and have them tell you card of yours they'd like. Also include your snail mail and ask for the other person's address too, so both of you can send cards to each other. :)

I for one would be interested in photography ATCs -- I do a little photography now and then so it'll be great to be introduced to other photographers' works. So bring them on! :D

Thats Right May :) That is the size in inches. Its not that bad, when drawing for instance its sort of like making a thumb nail sketch. It can somtimes be easier than making a big piece because you don't have to load it with as much detail.

IM gonna devote a little time to dig up some old posts for you guys today  I hope this helps for some of you just climbing aboard.

By the way. I made a post office run today and I was suprised that it was no sweat, and the cost was like $2 bucks and some odd cents to send them out. LOL the filler I used probably was heavier than the cards :p

Any how yall let me know if the cards came safe and sound when you get them. And likewise for every one eles so we can work that bug out.

Oh and Maygoblin :D my hands shake like a leaf. LOL years ago I went to nail school because I thought that looked like it would be fun. I sux at doing nails, but I made every one in the class mad because my hands shaked so, yet I was the best nail artist in the class. LOL thats all I could do right. They did lines, and ryme stones, I was doing grim reapers, and snow men, ECT on finger nails :p I knew it wasn't for me but I sure had fun. All the gossip and drama that goes on in one of those classes was funny as heck. I think its my coffee habit that makes my hands shake so

NOTE: Here is some compiled info from the back two weeks of the project. (has it only been that long?) Any how below is all info that may be importand, info on the project, ATC's, and what peeps had to say about different mediums and mailing. :) Enjoy LOL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys. Thanks for considering

Gudrun, I know about exchangeing, I had all of that info typed out, but thier was some kind of wierd hic up when I submitted the project that caused me to have to re type everything. Well I forgot to put that info in, so I'll make it up here.

Yes, there will be exchanges, unless of course that person dosn't care too, but im sure most (including myself) would love to exchange Including the one's I already have before the project providing im finished with it. I was thinking when person A wants to make an exchange with person B, They could exchange thier real name and adresses via PM to protect thier address from being on the public board.

sara, This is my first project ever, and ever started. So bear with me guys im a shy person and im nervous as heck. I hear you. I want to try to exchange with WC members first. This is after all my stomping ground. We will just have to see how folks feel about exchangeing. But the best way of turning them around is if we've got a card they simply cannot live without and vice versa

Thanks Chris I'll pm you as soon as we work out the details. Since this entails real addresses, some international addresses, packing the card(s) carfully. I figured we'd better work it out like a demacracy. what do yall think? Also Who among you has exchanged by mail before? I have I think about a dozen cards and havn't traded yet. what do yall think?

I Don't know if this next one will be usefull but here it is
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys im back

I spent the morning writing out some different ways of making cards so that people who've never done it before could have a place to start. I'll type that out soon.

Thanks guys for the great suggestions, ill just post down the line in a nut shell kind of way.

Hmmm, I don't really want to limit the partisipants because I want to keep it open and free; also it adds variety of the many different styles and mediums. Well just have to play that one by ear for now, kind of work out the bugs. I feel like the more folks we have to partisipate, the more likely every one gets to trade. Before creating the project I've noted that not many projects get more than 30 people and the average seemed at the 13 people mark. If we did get 30 I think we could consider ourselves lucky :wink2: More cards created and more fun.

Thanks for posting that link hlee! I think that'll show folks that think ATC silly how serious they are taken

We are definatly going to exchange, but I don't think we should force people who are uncomfortable. They may be nervous about giving thier home addy. Anybody thats ever had a stalker knows this (I have before) However, I think that people who don't want to will waurm up to it once they see all of the trades taking place. They may just want to get to know us better. Also because some folks will only exchange in person, because they like the other part of ATC which is to mingle with other artists. I would like them to showcase thier cards, but I don't want to be pushy with the mailing with them. I want those ATC'ers to be welcomed too.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys I think yall helped me think of a way to aproach this and make all happy what do you all think of the following:

Baby steps. To take one thing at time. First we will have fun making our cards with glee and posting them in the progress or finished piece section. That way we could comment on each others cards and get an acumilation going.

Decide who will be exchangeing and who wants to wait, or opt out. Some folks may want to acumulate more cards first before the first exchange. We can anounce which cards we exchange with who which will be fun but addys will be pm'ed only. We may end up knowing where we all live but that way all of 45,000 WC members don't LOL

When exchangeing the person mailing thier cards should be responsilble for protecting (making sure they are mailed in such a way so the cards not damaged) and postage. And vice versa to the person mailing thier cards to them. I know yall's concerns as I am always broke LOL. But a few things can be worked out on that as well. Which we need to talk about.

It would be great if sombody who's mailed cards before could give us all tips on how to protect them, other wise I got some surfing to do

Ok those are the ideas im very sure about along with things that I had in mind and I do want to hear your opinons on it.

Here are some things im still kicking around in my head:

International mailings. What I do know about international mailings is that air mail is esential. If your card travels by boat, then you won't see a card for 3 months. Keep that in mind yall. Other than that I need more info on international myself.

On state to state mailings, I feel we don't need exspensive mailings. Ground shipping will suffice. Especily for us broke folk. Just be sure to pack that baby (s) with care.

I for one will make a garentee that anyone who recieves my card damaged because of some yehoo postal service guy (sorry postal service guy :D ) I will make that exact same card again for them.

Now that we got some info posted tell me what yall think. I need your feed back.

This is going to take a year but this morning I compiled togeather all kinds of different ways of getting started for folks that havn't done this before.

Im going to start with the easiest and work my way down the line. I don't really have time to type all of it out tonight but im going to try to bust out at least one. Sorry if I miss spell anything too.

A note about trading and poker cards: It is a good idea to measure them to make sure they are the right size, I used to think that when in doubt buy cards that say Poker. Thats not the case because last night I opened a pack I had in resurve and they were clearly not the right size. You only have to measure one time, because if they pan out right you have 52 cards before you have to measure again when you buy a new pack. That is of course if you use a poker card but I wanted to clear this up.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Easy Methods

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Cut Out
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Take a Comercial trading card, or a regulation size poker card and secure it to good card stock.

2. With a good and very sharp exacto knife; cut around the card carfully.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Lucky Method
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your lucky enough to find card stock the exact right size already, then you are lucky indeed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Card
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Depending on what medium your going to use or what you want to do on the card, you could use the poker/trading card as is.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sanding the poker card
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. This is the one step method. and this also depends on what medium your going to use. Just sand the shine of of the side of the poker card you wish to use and your ready to go.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gesso
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I havn't done this one before, but it sure looks like it would work. (experimenting is always a good thing, and I encourage this) If you've got some gesso around experiment with it on the card stock/poker/trading card.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magic Cards
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many magic cards that look like regular cards on one side and are blank on the other. They just have to be the right size.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thats all the easy methods I have written. Im also going to be posting some alternative methods, that are more of a pain in the butt but I want to put the more easier to get started methods down for folks.

Feel free to step in and talk about yalls methods.

Individual trading card sleeves are great for mailing. They are the clear plastic sleeves you get at sport memorabilia shops and collectors shops. Or you can make little atc envelopes. I make tons of them out of my junk mail using the template at Mirkwood Designs Click Here (http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/atcenvelope.htm)
Either way, it's a good idea to slip some cardboard (recycled food boxes work well) in the envie too to stiffen it up a little. It doesn't hurt to write 'Please do not bend' in red marker on the outside of the envelope either.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last year I participated in the Holiday Card Exchange project (http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/Projects/index.php?cmd=view_details&proj_id=521) leaded by Sassybird, and international priority mailing was fine (one to two weeks delay, rates in US is max 0.80$ / 28g up to 1 Oz, in France, its 0.90 Euro for 20 g/0.7 Oz, probably similar rates in most countries - 1 Euro = 1.20 $ at the moment).

ATC Size
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.5 by 2.5 inches. in metrics, 89 mm by 64 mm.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You might try this TEMPLATE (http://www.empressdragon.com/ATC_Template.html) if you're having trouble getting them straight. You need Adobe Acrobat to view and print it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The below link is an example of an ATC hub. You will also get tons of examples of others work since this is the biggest I know.

http://groups.msn.com/ATCEXCHANGE

You know I didn't even know the x mas post card project existed until this morning. And I think some might be in confusion of this. I kind of wanted it to be simular to an ATC hub. But yall have given me an idea, and I need your feed back on it. I thank yall for bearing with me on my first project growing pains. I was so excited about it I just jumped in with two feet. Ok sorry about that what do yall think of this.

It just occured to me that some folk might be confusing this with the holiday exchange. That was not my intentions, but for those of you that wish to exchange like that, I was thinking of an exchange light.

LOL my first intention was if you saw somone who's work you liked that person would pm for a trade, but ok here is the idea for yall that want simular to the other.

In the origanal spirt of ATC it was always a card for a card. For those of you who want to do trades like the post card, rather than making 30 cards, why not limit it to five for five, or 10 for 10. Im confused about this, so bear with me I had no idea of this system lol.

I don't even know if im making sence am I? LMAO don't flog me guys, I havn't had enough coffee yet.

On another note I figured Id post up some of the cards I have finished, or only need to fill in the backs lol. Im going to hop to that.

Morgie
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Morgie thank you for the steps to take for making the cards, that will help a lot. I was wondering ,and I will try it, if after sanding you could also just use acrylic house paint to cover up the card and give it a foundation and go on from there depending on the medium.

Sassy thank you for sharing your cards with us, those are beautiful examples and I think this is really a great way Morgie, to get out of a slump and maybe also have and idea for a larger painting. What fun this will be.... QUOTE]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE ************************************************

Thanks Guys for your kind comments

And your very welcomed mlelevier and thanks to you too. Your right about the slump thing. Its the best!

I've got an update! I have temporarily limit the numbers to 30. at least until I've worked out some bugs and seeing how things work out and what I can handle. Always subject to change of course.

The other update, I've made a final decison on how the trading is going to work. Im going to let yall trade independently. My suggestion however is to let the cards build up a bit and have fun. And we will see how this works out. I don't forsee any problems in the future, and am confidant that no one will be left out. you just have to trust me on this one Sorry about the evil face lol I couldn't help it.

If it turns out that there isn't enough trades, don't worry, I can just open the door all the way and let more folk in. Or squeeze the number up. Like I said for now we have to let them build up.

Jump right in Pilan! Check out the links about ATC to they are very helpfull, and the msn link I left somewhere in this thread has thousands of ATC examples. The only rule is size. which is 2.5 wide, and 3.5 long basicly the size of a baseball card or a regulation size poker card. All styles are equal here weather your abstract or realist, all mediums that can concivebly go on the card are game.

See my making card tips in this thread.

THe exchange will be freelance. We're going to acumulate cards and you all (including myself) will independently pm each other for trades. Some who wish not to trade may just make cards and have fun until they are ready (or not) We are just basicly having fun.

So jump in on the band wagon! Anything your confused about give me a hollor.

My very own, Pain in the Butt Way Of making Cards.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want a specific surface that dosn't come in card stock form method.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the method I use the most because I never know what im going to do next. And I like to have a veriety of supports on hand. This way is a pain in the butt, however I have found ways that make it less so. :) If you can find ways of avoiding the pain in the butt way, all the better, but if you want canvas, or a type of tooth and there is no way around it? here ya go
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The way I take the Pain, out of the butt
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. I make a boat load of cards at one time. So that when I need one; I just grab for the one perfect for the task. For that reason alone, any easy method can benifit from having a boat load made ahead of time.

B. I multi task. And im not even a good multi tasker, and it works for me. If im not on a large project of drawing or painting, im wasting my time anyway. So While watching TV or on the phone, I make cards a head of time so when the mood strikes me for ATC I'll be ready to go. The multi task is also good for easy methods when you want allot of cards ready to go.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few Notes about Glue
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before ATC cards I never had to deal with it. So im no expert on glue. In fact anybody with additonal glue info, that would be greatly apriciated, because in all of my ATC travels I've seen contradicting information on rubber cement. Some say its great some say its not. There are many other glues out there worth experimenting with, some probably more archival than most. The problem with rubber cement is that I have a boat load of it now, and im going to use it up. but if there is better throw me a bone, I need it . I've never traded, but a few of my cards were made a year ago in september, and I havn't had any lifting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is my Pain in the butt experiment.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keep in mind that im a real anal person. LOL this might be the reason I have no lifting. I dunno. we'll see. Any that has lifted that cannot be repaired gets kicked to the curb.

1. Depending on what type of papper, canvas, canvas paper or just about anything you wish to use; lay it on the table. If your poker card is not sanded, secure it with a small piece of tape, otherwise it will slide around allot. Place the card on the paper and trace around it with an ink pen. Make as many shapes as your chosen surface will allow. But don't make them too close together.

2. I've recently discovered that its better to cut those shapes out now, but dont cut them perfect or too close to the lines. Your going to want to keep a boarder around the card mark. This way prevents lifting because the more boarder you have the more acurate you can be, and the reason for cutting is that the less boarder you have, the chances of lifting are lower.

3. take the glue and brush it on the surface; either in horizonal, or veritcal strokes. (I can just hear bevis and butt head now) With a nice even coat. Don't go too skimpy, and be sure to coat it past the lines. (This asumes your useing rubber cement, by the way)

4. Brush the card with glue in the oppiset direction that you did the paper; horizonal or verticly. Don't skimp and go past those edges. We don't want lifting.

5. Place card onto one of your outlined boxes, and slide it around until you have it lined up. (this also helps get the air out) (Trapped air is the number one cause of lifting) You may also want to firmly press down on it with one finger, while sliding another up and down the card, firmly but not enough to slide it out of place. Grab another card and repeat until all of your shapes have a card glued to it.

6. Let them dry compleatly. When they are done give them a good inspection, but handle them with care. The flaps of paper around the card will cause lifting because its not flush regardless of how well its been glued. Look for air bubbles, bumps, check all sides and corners for lifting.

7. Take some very sharp curved or straight toenail, or finger nail scissors and carfully cut around the card to get that extra paper off. Move from card to card until your done with them all.

8. The flusher the paper is with the card the better. At this stage I nip here nip there every where a nip nip. I get as close as I can without cutting the card itself. Then you can take your finger and rub along the sides of the card to get the extra glue off. Rub the back to get the extra glue off. I also stack them all togeather to see if they are all flush and tap the sides of the stack on the table, somtimes I run my finger nails along the edges. But im just anal

If the numbers and clovers show through on your chosen surface just repeate the whole process for another layer. And in the end inspect for lifting one last time. If it can't get repaired you could peel it all off and start over or chuck it. Since it hasn't bonded for a long time it should be removeable.

well that was a mouth full but I hope I was usefull. any comments are welcome.

Sorry about the typo's too. Because I finished just in time before I have to go to work and walk out the door time is now

Great project for the little time I have looking after a baby.

Have you heard of this site? http://artisttradingcards.meetup.com/
You can meet other ATC artists in your very city once a month! I've signed up for that too.

I'll start as soon as I can. Maybe we could incorporate the drawing thread into this as well?

sorry all, I posted my warm fuzzy reply before I had read this. I'm no expert either but I have done some work with glues.
There is a product called "Yes" glue. It's just like the library paste we all remember from 1st grade--except-- it will not warp paper. Even thin papers like rice papers and vellums can be glued with it and they won't wrinkle. It is acid free and for a long time everyone said it was archival but I think the latest word is that it WONT last much past 75-100 years
One draw back to using it is getting an even layer so that one does not have humps and bumps of glue. I accomplish this by using old credit cards, grocery store discount cards, old insurance cards and the like. (I even take the phony ones they send in the mail out and use them.) I dip into the pot of glue with the card, smear my surface in a swiping motion, much like using a putty knife on wallboard, then apply my decorative paper. This glue cleans off easily with a finger and can be washed away with soap and water.
I noticed when I was a Jerry's last time they had another brand that was supposed to do the same thing and maybe it is more archival--I don't know. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it, but maybe it is on the Jerry's website.
I have also used acrylic gel medium as a glue and it works beautifully and IS definately archival. The drawback to it is: It will wrinkle your paper, however, if the paper is heavy enough and you use a thin layer of medium, often the paper will dry flat. It is a little disconcerting waiting to see this happen, though.
Rubber cement has it's champions and I cannot comment as I have never used it. I have read that it is not only not archival but can speed the deterioration of paper due to the chemicals.
Hope this helps!

Encaustic is my main field, painting with hot wax....Sassy did this ATCs with an iron, made for encaustics, You have nice effects in a very, very quick way, especially with the iron. You heat it up, put the wax colors on there and they melt, then you put the melted colors onto a special paper...the colors mixes and you have that effects..
I paint this since 6 years, but not with the iron anymore, I use a lot of other things, you will see it when I upload my stuff...
When you go to www.absolutearts.com/artemisia you can see my encaustics..it was a way of years to come to this level...and it's really not a quick thing anymore...it's a very old technique, coming from the ancient greekes and the old egypts, which has a revival time today....
I'm also a member of the german art association for encaustics, I'm in the manger board there...next year I will do a workshop in El Paso showing all stuff around...

Sorry Gin, I forgot to answer some of your questions. First off WC is a wonderful site, and welcome Second, its sooooooo addictive! LOL

A limited eddition is when you make the same card say five times. You have five of the same and you number them in the order in which they were made. Which will mean there are only five that exists in the whole world.

A series is when you make a bunch of cards that are not the same, but are of one theme. and you number them 1 of 5 or 4 of five, ECT.

And of course an original is a card where it only exists.

The only thing that confuses me is printed stuff. I started to make a "whats in my sketch book" series which i'll show but im not sure if it was a stupid Idea or not. They are not the origanals since the full size version is in my sketch book, yet I have them done like a series. Not only that but my printer sucks and im not so sure I like how they turned out. At any rate I will post them with the rest of the cards and disregard if yall think it was a dumb idea.

On to the WC topic. A WIP means "Wet canvas in progress" Im not sure if thats what the obriviation means, but lol thats what it means. That is where you show progress steps of a work stage by stage. WIPS are the best thing since sliced bread I think. WITW, Now this one. I have no idea what rock I was hidding behind but I want to know now too.

TealPaint is a little digital paint programme that you can use on your PalmPilot. I've had images in my head for years, but was never really taught art. So, one of the first ways I started was with my little TealPaint programme. It's pretty naf now, compared with other big digital programmes, but it got me started. (I wasn't sure if I was allowed to say anything "promotional" about a commercial product).

"WC only" ...I often use watercolour pencils, or pen, as well as watercolour together. I think I meant it was a WC painting without any WC pencil.

BTW - the house - it's mine...allllll mine..... :

(great project morganna)

First thanks for your comments about my flowers. I really enjoyed doing them. I am usually a perfectionist but tryed breaking out of that by going over the lines and creating movement by doing so.

For the above quote:
Have you got any computer program that alters images eg: Photoshop, Paintshop pro? I can help you use those better or try this....

Open your picture up in "Paint" all PC computers have this program.
Go to the top of your screen and click on the "image" menu
Choose "stretch/skew"
change the horizontal and vertical percentages under stretch to less than 100 (the first two boxes) leave the rest.
press ok
it should "look" smaller
Now save your picture.
You are done.

Hope this helps
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
For PSP (my favorite program) Image | Resize | OR you can use Shift S to open the window. You then have a pull down that you want to show as pixels. WC limit is 500 W or 600 H. This will give you a large viewable but a small file, you will no longer have to worry about the file size. If you wish to have a smaller viewable then change the dimensions of your image first (inches or metric) and then check to see the pixel dimensions are within the 500 X 600 range. Be sure to do a Save As or Save Copy As you may want the larger original for later usage and once you reduce your size you can never go back.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
An ATC mustn't be sold, only exchanged, as the whole essence of these tiny works of art is about artists meeting (by correspondence or online if need be) and exchanging their works, thus meeting many artists and getting exposed to many personal styles. One card for one card. No "mine is better than yours so 2 of yours for one of mine" mentality. Each card is unique. If you don't like the cards don't swap with them. Simple.

I have already asked UnCertainid to swap my set of flowers with her set of birds. Can't wait to recieve them.

On the back of each ATC the artist writes part or all of the following information: name, contact information, title of the ATC and number (1/8, 2/8...) if it's part of an edition. By definition ATCs are made in limited numbers, often no more than one of a kind. Unique ATCs are called originals; sets of identical ATCs are called editions and are numbered; sets of ATCs that are based on one theme but that are different are called series. Don't be intimidated by the concept of small editions or originals. What most collectors really want are cards that were made with care. Also put your country of origin on the card. Collectors like to know where the cards came from.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question:

If the original is done on a thick paper such as watercolor or card stock would there be a reason to mount it on the back of a card?
I have done mine on watercolour (300gsm) paper - it is pretty think like card so I am not going to mount it on card as well. That just costs extra! As long as the paper you use is as thick as card don't worry - that is my theory.QUOTE]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A hotpen is a heatable pen, like a feather where you wrote with ink in the past...For encaustic it's necessary to have heatable tools to bring up the wax, because you have to melt it. If you start with encaustic (or often kids do that), you use an iron, a little iron similar like a travel iron for your cloth. You don't have to know anything about painting except to melt the wax on the iron and bring it up,like you iron the clothe, colors mix themselfes and flow one in another.. brings awefule effects in seconds without training anything..
Later if you go on with encaustics you have hotplates, heatable brushes, spatulas, hot air guns and all those stuff or you melt the wax and paint with a normal brush.I often heat up the paper and paint with wax directly. But the hotpen is like a pen where the wax melts inside.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can either use the wire brush coming with the stylus , what has the advantage that it's always hot and you can use cold wax. Or you use normal brushes from pig bristles (hope that is the correct word, have no idea in english) and melt the wax and paint with those brush, but of course you can use this brushes only for encaustic than and the best is to have one special brush for every colour....you can clean them with clear wax and you have to be quick with painting, because once the wax is at the bristles and goes out of the "hot pot" it will harden in a quick way...

Here is the trading info I posted
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry if I missed anybodies cards but I've run out of puter time.

Same goes for our little atc project. Anything goes! Just give it a butt icon just like other WC posts

Thats all I can think of at the moment Start pm'in if yall want

Morgie
(MY computer is making me mad, scanning the rest of my cards have been like pulling teeth and i've tried to post this already but my browser keeps crashing. Its getting agravating. )

Now let me submit this real quick before it crashes again. lol

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, let's assume you're just reading this thread...
One way to switch to the Project system is to chose "Art Project System" in the Content area list:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step1.jpg

Then you can click on "My projects in the "Project tools" box on the left:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step2.jpg

Then you can click on "Browse/Edit" for the Final entries of the ATC project (it appears on purple in the screenshot below):
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step3_v2.jpg

Then you click "Edit this entry":
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Sep-2004/28065-Step4.jpg

Here you go! (don't forget to hit "Save changes" at the end of the process).

Hi Kathy.

Reading the 40 or so page doesn't make much sense, but you sould visit this link: http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html

ATC the artist writes part or all of the following information: name, contact information, title of the ATC and number (1/8, 2/8...) if it's part of an edition.

YES!

As far as I know, no limited edition yet (but I'm not the big boss, :wink2: morgie). I didn't consider it myself, because my printer is not good enough.

I don't think so.

Part TWO OF USEFULL INFO: LOL I hit its limit so I had to do part two. LOL

Let me know if I forgot some info. I've been doing some serious quick scanning.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Kathy and welcome

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trading is simple -- if you see a card that you like and it's not marked "traded" anywhere in the title or description, just PM the artist of that card asking to trade for it, and have them tell you card of yours they'd like. Also include your snail mail and ask for the other person's address too, so both of you can send cards to each other. :)

I for one would be interested in photography ATCs -- I do a little photography now and then so it'll be great to be introduced to other photographers' works. So bring them on! :D

Hey guys  I have a curve ball for you guys

Its me again lol.

I've got a plan in the works. I was thinking about Slowing down the trading rate so that others can catch up, but I've come up with a better idea than that.

My focus is to make sure folks catch up and that no one is getting iritated with me :D And that other folks get a chance to trade. Here goes the idea:

I got a little project for you speed demons  there is no obligation to this project within this project. If you wish to catch up with the library and opt out you may do so with welcome arms :) For those of you interested just give me a Pm saying that you are.

Ok here are the details:

This is not the signature card Idea but a hybrid :) Since im resurving the signature for the future.

The project will be called. "Who I am". Basicly I want those who wish to partisipate to make ten cards that best describe who you are. These are not self portrait cards because I want the inner you, not the outer you. And you, not your family, however I know your family is apart of you, so I wish (although only a suggestion) that only one card be devoted to family if thats what you wish. This is more about you, than family however. Kind of like apart of you, but not you. LOL Now im getting toung tied. Dig deep down inside your soul and pull your self out, really think about what each card is suposed to represent and bring all of your emotions into it. Its up to your imagination what the cards will be.

Same rules applies to these ATC's as usual. Any style or medium ect. Also Describe what each card means and what story is unfolding there when you do a final upload when the deadline has been met.

Here is the other curve ball  Once I find out who is partisapating in this I will give the start and the dead line. Im going to make it a big deadling because I want yall to really dig inside of yourself. Im going to pull names out of a hat. Thats right. Im going to pair yall up randomly. And at the end of the dead line we are going to post them all up and who ever is paired with each other I will let yall know and yall will PM each other with your addys. So no pickins here

I decided on doing things like this every now and then when it got slow, but I decided to do one right now because things have gotten so fast lol :p I wanted some folks a chance to catch up.

Of course Im assuming regular card postings will continue as it does normally, tradin too. But Im using this little project to mostly make sure the cards acumulate, get some folks who havn't traded yet to do so, and I thought it would be a pretty good idea.

What do yall think first. Good idea, bad, what are yalls thoughts?

I found myself being paranoid that some might feel left out. Im not sure nor have I gotten any PM"s about this, but to nip it in the bud incase it comes up my solution to this is to create side activities and to make the project larger and thus more diverse rather than stunting its growth, or slowing it. Im experimenting :D

I've also noted allot of folks signed up that hasn't posted yet. Even if your not finished with your cards or made one yet we would still love to hear from you, your thoughts, ideas anything. :)

I hope I didn't forget anything :) Im excited as all get out!

Tootles

Morgie

:D What a coincidence! I just finished four cards last night and two of them have to do with nails, both fingers and toes. That's a big hint on what they look like. :p No snowmen and grim reapers or anything of the like on the cards, but lots of glittery stuff. I shall try to upload them as soon as possible, but I'm one of those technology-incapable people. My digi camera doesn't focus well (or is it just me???) and I can't seem to find a resize tool on my Mac , so I have to wait for my brother to do it. :D I'll try get them in by today though.

Ooh and thanks for all the info about cards. It definitely makes my life easier to see every thing at once instead of having to go back to hunt them down.

Thanks. When it comes to painting, red is my favourite colour as well because it's so rich and fiery.

AJR, regarding your question, maybe I'll do some more, though I guess it depends on my mood. I like the end product but cutting out the card is a drag. But like I said, it depends on my mood. :p But I'm not too sure if I'll make it a series because I won't know how many I do.

Soooo many beatyfull cards! Im gonna take the time to comment on them all later :) Gotta get busy for now.

I got bad news. It won't let me stretch the project bigger anymore. I should have quit messing with it and let it be unlimited. Ah, It says when I try to edit (Sorry, cannot delete project after five days) EEEEK, Im not trying to delete it, just edit it. Why is it saying that. I suspect just a glitch, but you never can tell. :)

I gotta another rule, it was suggested by jakeally and I think its a good un. Since some folks don't have much online time, when you pm them for a trade, and are waiting for that pm, put a trade pending on your card and give them a week to respond before putting it back on the open market :) how's that sound to yall?

This is my grandmothers fav flower, and you did this one with justice! :clap:Where I work there is a magnolia tree that is at least 300 years old. It towers as high as any oak I think. Its so high that you can't reach any of the flowers when its in bloom. It dosn't bloom as much as other trees though because it is so old and the size of it, but it is cool!

Awsome card!
