Hi! I'm a new to ALL of this.
I wonder if anyone else here is in the same boat. I am taking art classes at a University to prepare for retirement. I have always enjoyed creating with what I later learned was found art. As I have grown older I have gained new friends (Dia Betes, Arthur Itis, Osteo Porosis, etc.) and decided the best way to maintain a HEALTHY relationship is to change careers (I left teaching).
I have chosen one profession (painting and drawing) which, I hope, will allow me to choose my "friends" more closely and control my future lifestyle by allowing me to work from my home (perhaps giving lessons and hopefully selling some of my work) to supplement our retirement (which will be relatively soon).
Has anyone else made a major career change to Art?
