View Full Version : Something new from me

I've been working on these window beads and some two colored saturn beads - having lots of fun. They are kind of tricky to make (at least I'm still on the learning curve.)

The square ones are hand shaped, the saturn ones are made with Corina's press. The first picture is a little backlit, just so that the center shows better.

WOW, I love both shapes. Bravo

I love the square ones. I think the saturn ones look like tootsie pops. I have not really warmed up to that shape. But, just my opinion. CC

I know what you mean about the shape. I had my stamp for a long time before I used it. Now I REALLY like it - but it did take a while. I think I started warming up to it when I started decorating the basic shape. They remind me of port-holes on a boat.
I have one bracelet I made of these two-colored port-hole beads- my prototypes- still pretty wonky (its turquoise and amethyst) and while my DH doesn't like it, I get tons of compliments on it all the time.

I think they're both pretty neat, Patricia!

Trish, I adore these!
What a great look, fun, crazy, DIFFERENT, and unique..........go girl.
Don't be discouraged if they are slow to sell though, I find you have to "create your market" so to speak...wink!
You go,

LOVE EM!!!! This is a perfect example of two great minds thinking alike. I literally just made some like the round ones. Not exactly, I didn't use a press, but they are definately very much like those. Eek!

(so much for my original idea!!!!)

Love your beads, and your originality.  I wonder how they'd look bordered in stringer made from one of the metallic frits, reduced so that it looks like lead around stained glass???? I think as long as you don't completely melt in the frit stringer it wouldn't bleed onto your base bead and would make the bead appear to be wrapped in metal. Could be a cool look. If you try it, be sure to post pics.

You just cannot go bad with EITHER version! I LOVE!!! the windows and satellites -- they are just (if you'll pardon the quirkiness of the phrase) the right bit of quirky for me, and I'm sure quite a few others, that it will not take too long for your market to blossom! == When it does, SHARE, Girl, SHARE!

Wow.. those are beautiful beads!

I've been working on the round ones and enjoy doing them (or at least, that's what I keep telling myself!!!!) but those square ones are just awesome!!!

Keep up the great work... art galleries eat this type of beads UP! And, I know there are so many people on E-Bay who will love those babies!!!!!!!
