While me and dad were in rhochester NY, we scooted down to corning and I did a walk-in workshop! I got to make a pulled glass flower! Well, kinda. The guy got the glass on the pole thingy and rolled it in the frit and all but I did all the pulleing and spinning and shtuff.

It just can in the mail 25 minites ago. YAY!

That is so cool! Do they have info about the walk-in workshops on the web or anything? I'd love to learn more about it. Just mentioned to my DH a few weeks ago how I'd luv to go up to Corning someday to check it out.

Hi Jen,

Try this...

http://www.cmog.org/index.asp?pageId=672

It should give you the info on the walk-in workshops. The Studio is a great place to learn. I took a 10-hour beadmaking class in the fall & loved it. The museum is wonderful...and usually kids under 18 are free (check the website...I think it's still true).

Hope that helps...

Lovely!

Makes me feel bad I have to postpone my trip to Corning. Corning is about 3 hours from where I am and was going to make a day trip down there but have had to have some serious work done to my studio (it was sinking into the ground!)

CMOG advertises their walk in workshops on the tv here and boy, do I wanna go! :-) Not to mention the workshops they offer....sometimes when you are so close, you don't always find the time! :-)

I would LOVE to do more fuenace work but There is nowhere to do that sort of thing around here. And I don't think my parents are about to let me set up a studio like that in my room. :D
